  1. True. The defender had his back to the thrower and was maybe 3 feet directly in front of him. The thrower threw the ball really hard into the back of the defender and came right back into the shins of the thrower.
  2. We probably don't see as many 3 second calls as we could/should then.
  3. That is what I thought but I don't proclaim to be well versed on all the rules. Refs got it wrong twice in the Scott - PC game on Wednesday.
  4. Are you sure because I thought their unbelievable tough out of district schedule would have prepared them for this game.
  5. Do both feet have to be in the lane or does the 3 sec count start with just one foot in and vice versa does the 3 sec count stop when one foot is placed back outside the paint?
  6. No it did not. Hit directly off the defender back to the inbound passer without hitting the floor.
  7. Good list and thanks for taking the time to explain. Here's a question. If an offensive player is inbounding the ball and throws it off of a defensive players body part to avoid a 5 second violation and the ball then hits the offensive player standing out of bounds who originally threw the ball, does the possession remain with the offensive team or is it considered a turnover?
  8. I can't stand the play by play PA Announcer. I need ear plugs when I go to a game at Walton! And if I remember correctly a few years ago Owen Cty was horrible as well. Can't stand it!
  9. Apparently the commentators were wrong. Clock is running.
  10. Smith has well over 200 yards rushing on about 10 carries.
  11. Running clock doesn't start until the second half according to the commentators.
  12. Newport's above NCC and NCC beat Newport twice. Walton Verona is above Newport and Newport beat them twice. :idunno:
  13. With all due respect, that's the cookie cutter way of playing football and I am sick of the cookie cutter way. It was the right decision to go for it. It is early in the game, you are playing against an inexperienced QB starting only his second game ever with a team who also is playing a back-up RB and if you don't make it they are forcing them to start at the 1 yrd line. I think you be aggressive at that point in the game. IMO, the sharp coaches (Bill B. & Chip K) who aren't afraid to not be "cookie cutter" would have went for it too. The play on the other hand was a terrible call.
  14. Disagree with you on the decision to go for it but 100% agree on the play call. I absolutely hate the fade pass. Wasted play 90 - 95% of the time.
  15. The NCC QB played a heck of a game. I was impressed with his poise and decision making. He's just a Soph, right? If so, he's going to be a good one! To say what if Jacob Smith stayed at Newport is silly, What if B. Johnson (who played a great game) stayed at Holmes?
