Congrats to NCC and good luck! Great season Newport, you gave the school excitement they haven't had in a long time! One heck of a run!

Get ready for the onslaught! I endured it last year when I predicted NKY football was closer to no State Championships than 2 so if you need any tips on how to endure the attacks, I'm willing to give you tips. Good luck! :thumb:

The deeper the playoffs go, the thinner the skin becomes. Many of the comments in a couple of these threads reminds me why I like to read and observe more than post. I think I will just get back to reading. Good luck to NCC and Newport Friday night!

Can't speak on the other "what ifs" because I could not see from my viewpoint put the 95yrd TD that was called back was 100% a hold. Actually there were 2 holds on the play and the second one got called.

Works for Newport! They don't need a FG post, they don't mind going for 2. Serious question, does Lawnboy have a mower large enough to provide shuttle service from the old Kmart parking lot? That hill is a bear to walk.

So Holmes allows anyone to play on their field for free? Who pays the light bill? Holmes eats that too? Does money grow on trees in the Covington School District? I think not. Holmes has to get something out of the use of their stadium, probably the concession money as already stated.

# 2 for WV should have been ejected from the game. Jumped on the pile late and threw a haymaker punch that landed. Very disappointed of the conduct from some of the WV players. Lots of late hits and cheap shots from #2, #5 and #12. Not reflective of the type of coach Jeff Barth is.

Fair enough. If NCC feels like it gives them an advantage then they certainly have earned that right. But IMO it really doesn't make much of a difference.

Pretty much a neutral field game no matter where it's played, isn't it? A short bus ride to another NKY field really isn't going to make much of a difference. The interesting question is whether they are trying to get the game moved to a grass field stadium.

Newport has not shown the ability to win the turnover battle this year. 3 again last night. That has to change right now or they will not beat NCC.

I don't think it's any higher than 5th or 6th on the list of what makes a good/quality team. Tough schedule didn't prepare Trinity last year so how did it help this year. It may have been an ingredient in their recipe of success but I don't think it is the main ingredient. Players, coaching and confidence are much more important than SOS, IMO.

We are splitting hairs here but I believe the Josh Castleman, Ben Osborne, Kameron Crim Freshmen class was better than this years class. This years Freshman class may have the best football player to ever step on the field at Scott once his high school career is over (TBD) but I would take last years Seniors as the best and deepest freshmen class Scott has ever had. Maybe they didn't have a Freshmen Championship game that year but that class lost its very first game (SK) while they were trying to figure out who the QB was going to be and once they settled on Osborne they didn't lose again. SK was their only lose that year and they lost that game pretty much from a pick-six thrown by the QB who was replaced by Ben.

When has Newport beaten Scott on a regular basis within the past 15-20 years? They may have played each other in the 80's or early 90's but they haven't played since until 2007. Since 2007, Scott is 5-1 against Newport outscoring them 183-48 in those games. I think a fair question to ask is if these Scott teams under Woolley have gotten better by the end of each respective season. I honestly can't say they have.

Didn't Scott get the ball first? It was 7-0 within the first minute of the game.

How did AC score their first TD?

I don't even think this is WV's best team in recent years.
