While WV is a good team, I am still having trouble understanding how beating a 5-5 LCA team is being considered a "big" win. Now, in terms of winning a state title, CAL and DeSales may have something to say about that.

I feel WV can knock off anyone in the 2A. Big win vs LCA last week.

There is no coach in the world that I want to do better than Bartie. I respect him and like him very much. That said, WV is a couple good classes away. Right now, their Special Teams have been an issue and they have no consistent passing game. They pass off of play action and that works great if you are in a tight game, or playing w/ the lead. It is tough to come back if you can't generate it from the pass. However, every year, Barth is getting them closer. Those are just the two areas where they need to improve to be able to win the East, let alone compete w/ CAL, DeSales or Caldwell.

State Semi's for them could get hard if they play Danville.

I think it's great what the Bearcats have accomplished in such a short time frame, but a State Title this year..............NO WAY!!!

I don't see ANY TEAM on this side of the bracket beating CAL, DeSales, or Caldwell Co.

I am with LB on this one. Walton's chances of winning a title are almost zero. I am not saying that to knock them - just stating my honest unbiased opinion.

Agreed. Stranger things have happened, but I'd still be surprised.

Unfortunately the playoff schedule does them no favors and this is the year they have the best chance. They will get Newport at home and will have to beat a team that has beaten them. Then if things play out in form they would have to go to NCC. Then win that and have to travel for semis. I would like their chances a lot better sitting at home for 4 games.

Can anyone advise how home field is determined during the playoffs now? If MCCAIN and Walton Verona end up meeting, how does NCC get the home field advantage? Looking at the stats, Walton has a better overall record and leads NKY in points scored as well as fewer points allowed so when your that deep into the playoffs how is home field determined? ?

If both are #1 seeds in Region and meet it alternates. #1 NCC had to go to #1 Gallatin Co last year. Semis alternate every year. NCC hosted Somerset last year.

Bingo....agree!

As a 1991 grad of WV, I hope they win it all. No football when I was there.

To add to this

Because all schedules are not created equal, your idea of record or points shouldn't matter because NCC has played a much tougher schedule.

First 2 rounds are at the highest seed. The 3rd game is the regional final is played at the highest seed. If both teams are the same seed it is played at the even district in even years and odd district odd years. The 4th round game (semi finals) is played at the even region in even years and the odd region in odd years (doesn't matter higher seed)
