  1. Not what I'm saying. Even though NCC was down 13 at the half, the game way very evenly played. NCC missed 2 FG's and Campbell connected on an 89 yard pass play for a TD. I think the better team one. One thing I seemed to notice is it looked like NCC wore Campbell down. The Camels looked tired. Should a 2A team really be able to wear down a 6A team? I don't think so.
  2. A coach who changes everything these kids have learned about football with less than 1 month until the start of the season is a poor hire. A great coach can adapt to his talent.
  3. Incorrect assumption. Really didn't make much of an impact. Did he even have 40 yards for the game? Poor punting on Campbell's part that gave NCC short fields and good defense on NCC's part in the second half are the reason for the win. NCC had one nice drive to open the second half, other than that they really seem to be struggling on offense.
  4. Scott is 5-0 and has outscored Newport 203-26 in the last 5 meetings.
  5. Agree again! They were left hung out to dry by the poor decisions of the previous coach and have to suffer the consequences of the poor hiring of the new coach. Feel really bad for this Sr class.
  6. LOL! This is football no matter what offense you run but you are kidding yourself if you think a 1970's style offense gives you the best chance these days to win State Championships. 1 State Championship in 70 years says different with the amount of talent that the Cards have had over the years.
  7. Yes you can win a lot of games when you have some of the best athletes in the country on your team. But even with that talent, you can't win championships. BTW, I'm a big fan of Colerain (wife's alma mater).
  8. I'm not sure they would beat CovCath either but I'd give Scott a big chance against Beechwood. I would love to hear the opinions of the Lloyd and Dixie fans on who they think is the better team, Scott or Beechwood?
  9. Actually Scotts defense has given up only 7 points in 2 games. Scotts defense is very good this year. I look for the offense to catch up and be really rocking by district play. I'm hearing that Newport is changing some things up offensively but I'm afraid its not going to make much of a difference. It doesn't look good for my alma mater, they'll have their hands full with the Eagles this week. Like many others, I hope both teams come out of this game injury free.
  10. You guys are making my point for me. I never said Weis was better, I said there isn't much difference between the two. I will say this, the program was in better shape personnel wise when Kelly took over than when Weis took over. The 4 recruiting classes before Weis took over had an average ranking of 42 nationally. The 4 recruiting classes before Kelly took over had an average ranking of 9 nationally. Charlie Weis recruited 16 players that are currently on NFL rosters including Golden Tate, Kyle Rudolph, Tyler Eifert, Zack Martin, Manti Te'o among others. Lets not act like the cupboard was bare when Kelly took over. He should have had more sustainable success than Weis, he had a better starting point. And again for the record please read this slowly, Charlie Weis and Brian Kelly stink. Not much difference between the two. Just two different odors. On last thing, I would love nothing more than to be wrong. I hope Brian Kelly brings multiple championships to South Bend. I just don't have much confidence in him doing so.
  11. The National Championship year was a very lucky year for the Irish. The stars were aligned and luck was on their side in many games. They weren't close to being a top 2 team that year. Also, the only thing Kelly has proven to me is that he does pretty well with other coaches recruits (UC and ND). He gets to the big game and then gets embarrassed. Charlie Weis did get ND to two BCS games and Kelly's record the first 5 years isn't a whole lot better than Weis. I believe Kelly average's 1 more win per year. Here is all you need to know about Brian Kelly, this past year was his first full recruiting class that was eligible for the NFL Draft. He had 1 player drafted and he was drafted in the 7th round! The ND bball team had more players drafted this past year then the ND football team. See now why I'm not optimistic?
  12. All my Irish friends are more optimistic than I am. I just don't have confidence in Brian Kelly. Never was a Kelly fan. I certainly hope they get in the playoff but I seriously doubt they will. Go Irish!
  13. The streak ends! 1) Keen Ice (16/1) 2) American Pharoah (1/5) 3) Frosted (7/1) Upstart (15/1) completes the Super.
  14. There's not much pace in the race. He could wire the field. Post time in 2 mins. I like Keen Ice or Smart Transition for 2nd.
  15. That's a lot of carries for Powell. He has had durability issues in the past and if I were coach, I don't think I'd be giving him 40 carries in a game again. Great game by the young man, just 40 carries with his frame and past would be a concern for me.
  16. I told these guys not to read the comments!
  17. Great video stream. The site is going in my favorites. Thank you guys! Congrats Ryle on the victory! NKY 6A is going to be interesting this year.
  18. #70 for LexCath is the shortest lineman I have ever seen at the high school level.
  19. These announcers are calling every penalty on Ryle. The only problem with that, the Ref's are calling the penalties on LexCath. I think the announcers are 0 for 5 since I've been watching.
