Reading rolled easily and actually did what they could to keep the score down. Newport just way behind on offense, defense, special teams.

 

Not sure I see a win on the Newport schedule this year but hopefully they will be competitive in a few if they can keep the numbers from dwindling and stay healthy. Kudos to those going out there week after week this season.

Only chance I see for a win for Newport is at Owen County on September 25.

Reading as slowly been getting better. Not sure they are a legit playoff team being they are coming off of a 4-6 record and did not beat any teams, with a winning record.

The problem was they did not make the hire until very late. I believe they showed a graphic and the entire OL for Newport is Seniors so it is not inexperience but it might be a rough road for a few years. I would guess they will be competitive with Owen Co and maybe Holmes in the last game as the season depending on the numbers left for both teams.

Watching this one now and all I can say is Newport made Reading look like a state contender in the opening quarter.
