I would like to hear what everyone has to say about Newport QB Paul Price. I recently spoke to someone that saw Price play against Mason County and he said Price was an outstanding QB. Does a great job with zone read, fast, strong, accurate.

What can anyone tell us about Price?

Has an amazing "deep ball" arm. Accurate 50 yard passes is 2nd nature to this guy.

I dont know much about this young man first hand but was told by a newport supporter who is an honest sports fan bit he truly believes with his skills he believes the Wildcats have a honest chance to win the firemen bell from the Breds this year. Told me the program in Newport is doing a complete turn around and has a bright future. Best team since the days of being led by the running ability of Nick Partin. This man who I would trust my life in his hands so I know he is not blowing smoke

Looking forward to Newport having a good season. Stay healthy and continued success Paul Price! :thumb:

Report I have on him is he is very good. They have 2 solid running backs at Newport this year, too. Walton will have their hands full this week containing them.

I liked what I saw against Mason County. Had lots of success throwing in the flat. Very few inaccurate throws. Didn't try too many deep balls but did hit one long TD pass on a corner route.

I don't know much about Newport but I hear this team being compared to their 2005 squad.

I think Newport may have hit a homerun with Coach Schmitz. I was amazed at how well they were coached last year. Last seasons talent wasn't as good as the talent Newport had 2 seasons ago but last years Newport team would have whipped the team before it. That is a credit to Coach Schmitz and his staff. Whole new attitude from my understanding.

Price is being coached well. I believe he was a WR last season. Does anyone know if he ever played QB at any level prior to this season?

What is Coach Schmitz's name and background? Could it be Adam Schmitz? Former super running back, linebacker at Ryle and Georgetown College?

No. He is from TN.

I was very impressed with him Saturday night. Good arm, tough runner and a poised leader until the end. (Lost his cool a little after last play fell apart)

But if I'm a Newport booster, I'm definitely excited about this team and this QB!

Thanks for the info KJ.

Great news for Paul and the Wildcats!

Saw him throw a ball 55 yards in the air and he runs very well.

One of the top QB's in NKY this year in my eyes.. he had a great game Saturday.

1 pass TD with 168 yards, 2 rushing TD with 57 yards.

Pretty solid QB

That is what I thought which is more credit to the coaching staff and Price's ability.
