NewCath will be coming off 4 straight against 5A Cooper, 6A Campbell Co. 6A Simon Kenton & 6A Dixie Heights.......they will take the BYE week to rest up and heal any injuries before district play begins.

Looking at the open dates, even though there are lots of them, not many matchups make sense geographically.

I would like to see Ashland - Henry Clay happen, but I doubt it will. In recent years Ashland has scheduled their BYE for week 10, giving them a week off to rest and prepare for the playoffs. I imagine if Ashland plays a full schedule this year it will be against a local out of state team. I have no idea which local teams share the open date with Ashland though.

District play begins the week before. Do they really need rest to prepare for a district they have dominated the last 15 years?

 

Once district play starts, are teams not allowed to play a non district game until the end of district play?
