With a respectful performance to start the season vs a tough Corbin team in the season opener and a W against Williamsburg last Friday, the Harlan Green Dragons travel to Allen Central this Friday for a 1A showdown. The AP 1A poll has the Dragons listed as receiving votes for the top 10 and the BGP poll has them listed as #9. After taking AC to the woodshed last fall in the first round of the playoffs, I expect a good football game. Green team with their 2nd victory of the year. 27 - 13

Harlan & Williamsburg are back competing in their respective class this coming Friday night. Can Williamsburg stop the run? Can Harlan stop the pass?

You did the right thing by not saying anything. As mentioned, it would not have made a difference. They would not have listened. Good coaching should have the D ready for all possibilities in any given situation. After all, QB sneak could have meant "Hail Mary." .............

HC: A couple of int's for TJ, nice reads. The tailback looked good. Ran hard, pretty quick. The OL was big & physical and worked very hard. C: Taylor was awesome, he's a burner. Small line, but played very hard, coached well. Watkins had a good game on D. Very quick to the ball and will put a hat on you. I thought this one could go either way in a real game. Both teams were well coached and played hard.

Corbin will be Corbin and Harlan will be improved. I'm not sure about the score, but I am sure it will be a physical game.

Got to enjoy an afternoon of practice yesterday. Although, I believe they are supposed to be closed . .......They are a mature and confident football team. The seniors are big & stong and well seasoned. I was also impressed by several freshman. They are stepping up and a few of them will see significant playing time this year. I'm looking forward to seeing some different colored jerseys on the field with them. :ylsuper: Seen a curious looking young man over there yesterday afternoon Outlawcoach.....

Best: Coach tossed me the first red shirt (starting offense) my Sr. season at the end of an early season practice....... Completing an undefeated season. Worst: Watcing the last few seconds tick away vs. Danville in 85' and the locker room afterwards. Like Hatz, now I need therapy again.

I don't believe that our ref's would want to openly admit some of the calls they make. I do like the idea though. I also like the idea of a player's # being called out, it could help reduce silly penalties. Ever see a guilty player hurry back to hide in the huddle when he is guilty? Then when he is found out, he lowers his hands, "It was'nt me."
