Class 3A KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl: Lou. Central vs. Breathitt County Updates
Hard to keep up MG? I know the feeling. With your avatar, I think you and I are in the same position in trying to keep up with the game and doing the same kind of work.

4A: Boyle County Rebels (13-0) at Bell County Bobcats (13-0)
May be true. If so, KC's O & D fronts are a close second. Last week's game was the best one I have seen in a while. I love good ol' smash mouth football. :fight: This week's game should be much of the same. Wish I could be there. Good luck Bell Co. Anybody got radio information for a traveling deer hunter for tonight's game?

Size/strength or speed, which is more important?
The speed of the game changes every year. The game is so much faster than it was 20 years ago. Now days, 250-300lb. lineman can run with the backs! It is amazing. Seems you can't compete in todays game without speed. Teams with strength and speed combined are the winners. I don't think size is as important as it used to be.

35-14 LCA- Fugate RB, (Breathitt Co.) Mr. Football next season?
5W, what became of J. Chapman's college career? I thought he was going to UK and I lost track of him. Injury? I recall him being on the Sports Overtime high light reel for a long time. I thought he was a GREAT RB. Back on subject, barring injury, Fugate should be Mr. Football next year. :thumb:- Who is Going to be the Star Running Back Next Season in the Mountains?
I agree 5W. And they are usually labeled "He's a Holdback" which causes them to loose some of their attention as great players because they are older than the others and are expected to be better.- Bell County 19 Knox Central 14
I had not seen either team until tonight. Since our season was over I thought this would be a good one. It was a GREAT football game. Merrick backed up all of the talk and I thought he was the difference in the game, accounting for 8 points (I believe). Man, what a weapon he is! That KC defense was also very impressive. Good luck Bell, I hope you get another title. :thumb:- Who is Going to be the Star Running Back Next Season in the Mountains?
Andrew Link from the Harlan Dragons whose heart is bigger than his body.- Estill Co. vs Breathitt Co.

As would I!- Harlan/Pikeville Predictions
I thought that was what you meant. Then mentioned it to my son last night. He said they were practicing defending the hb pass. Go figure.- Harlan/Pikeville Predictions
Thanks DC. They have practiced for it all week but I know it will be hard for us to defend. I hope I get another week to brag on BGP. : We are 0-8 vs Pikeville in the post-season. I offer no prediction except, It will be tough.- Brrrrrr!!!! Cold This Friday
This thread brings back my COLD experiences. 8-12 year old kids playing little league football in Wyandotte Michigan. I recall 20 degree highs with wind and snow off of the lake. We used to wear panty hose and sweatshirts under our gear. ............The cold should have no effect this Friday on the hosses, but will be hard for guys that are in and out. I'll have on the huntin' gear. No problem. :thumb:- Harlan/Pikeville Predictions
:thumb: Yes Sir! And that is what this Harlan team does. They pay no attention to critics, negativity, or even the score. These guys play football straight from the heart each and every down. Win, lose or draw, opposing teams best buckle their chin straps. :fight:- Harlan/Pikeville Predictions
