Young Backs?

Corbin's Ryan Fritts if he recovers from the ACL should be one of the top backs in the state. What will be scary is Fritts along with Caleb Watkins after another year in the weight room. Then add soph. Matthew Taylor who has shown alot this year.

Corbin will be loaded in the backfield next season. Will Smith be the quarterback and what do they have coming back on the line?

Not sure about Smith playing or not. He has been with the team all season and in all the team pictures, I would assume (and hope) that he will play.

 

Off the top of my head.........I think that 3 of the 5 offensive lineman are seniors.

I think they only lose two starters on the offensive line, Hayden & Taylor.

 

Smith is probably 50/50 on playing football next year.

I look for Bell Co. to be really good at running back despite the losses of Spencer Greer, Matt Simpson, Justin Goodin, etc. Dominic Carton and Cory Davenport both have a lot of potential.

If North Laurel keeps Wardup at TB as they did the last part of the season, he will be one of the top backs in the mountains. He had over 1,200 yards rushing this season, most of it at the QB position and 10 rushing TDs to go with his 447 yards passing and 5 TDs. Most of his rushing yards from the QB position were on broken plays or scrambling on pass plays. Give him a full year at TB and he could go well over 1,500 yards next season easily. He is only the 3rd RB at North to ever go over 1,000 yards in one season (Durham was 1st and Blair was the 2nd).

 

Caleb Watkins at Corbin is another back with huge potential that could have a very solid season next year for the Hounds. He has 862 yards on only 99 carries this season averaging 8.7 yards per carry and 10 rushing TDs plus 200 yards receiving and 2 TDs. He did this and led the Hounds when they feature several solid RBs with Watkins, Fritts and Campbell.

Caleb Watkins should be one of the best backs in eastern Kentucky. The games I've watched him play, he has destroyed the defenses.

1000 yard rusher, he also has scored in his career receiving, returning punts, returning kickoffs, kicking XP's, returning interceptions.

 

He also is Belfry's punter, holds the XP when not kicking, and is the second best passer on belfry's team.

The same could be said for Zack Roark and he missed 1 & 1/2 games. He will be a senior for McCreary next year.

Fugate comes back bieng the best hand down! Varney form Belfry. How about Nathan Dillion, Tanner Bratton, JJ Jude and JK Hall for Johnson Central? These guys will get to run the ball.

I heard a rumor on Log Mountain they other day and rumor is the Cory Davenport could be faster than Shawn Robbins. IDK because Robbins run a 4.45 at the combine with electric timers. So it could just be hearsay or the boy must just have wheels.

You would have to think that Fugate from Breathitt would be the best in the mountains next year and maybe one of the best in the state. He has over 2000 yards for the season already and at 6'3 225 pounds he is a load to bring down. He was benching over 325 at the beginning of the year and continues to gt faster and stronger.
