Steele from Lynn Camp should do well and the Lowrie kid from Williamsburg should put up some good numbers too.

Junior to be C.J. Miller from Clay County. If he gets in the weight room, he will be one of the best.

Lowrie does have outstanding speed...and in the spread it is a little easier to run the ball than lining up and running over the guy in front of you. The running lanes it creates are simply unfair. The combination of Ed Lawson's power style and the mismatches with 4-5 in the box was deadly for many teams this year. Lowrie could be even better just because of the speed factor. I sure would like to see another Lawson style back in that offense though.

How does the line look for Williamsburg next year?

I heard a rumor on Log Mountain they other day and rumor is the Cory Davenport could be faster than Shawn Robbins. IDK because Robbins run a 4.45 at the combine with electric timers. So it could just be hearsay or the boy must just have wheels.

 

I've seen Cory run and I've seen Shawn run, he's got impressive speed for a freshman but several people that actually know him say hes not a true freshman at all and has been held back once or twice, he's no Shawn Robbins. Dont get me wrong, he's got a bright future but to compare him to Robbins right now is a little far fetched to me. Not to mention theres an absolute stud comming in next year for Bell, Jonathan Polly, who cory could actually end up splitting his share of carries with, the kid is a great athlete. But as far as Bell Co. goes, I'm looking for Carton to be the feature back.

 

The best back in the mountains though, i dont think there should even be an argument, Channing Fugate.

Varney from Belfry is a real good High School tailback, but he is small.. Richardson from Johnson Central is good as well. I'm sure there are many others, but in terms of the total package, ie, size/speed/skill - FUGATE has it all.

Did you say you were a Bobcat Fan?? When does true Freshman apply to HS football? Are you trying to downgrade his talent because he's been held back or do you have some other motive? I'm sure other kids that have been held back on the Bobcat team, or other teams, wouldn't appreciate you questioning their talent or accomplishments because they are "not true". Shawn Robbins had a great career at Bell Co. High School and nobody's disreguarding that, but ain't it a little sad to be putting down another player that maybe the fans can have hope in for part of the future of Bell Co. Football? Davenport has a lot of talent/heart and will be a great asset in the full package back field in the future and I don't think that you should be talking about "Studs" coming in and putting him down, especially another "untrue freshman" in Polly. A true Fan hopes that all the above mentioned can help carry the load as great players for the future of the Bobcats, not trying to pick one out to praise and one out to disrespect. :mad:

It used to be, you held a kid back who was "immature" but IMO you hold ANY kid with excellent athletic talent back. Do it while he is young. It will probably help him in athletics, and even if it doesn't, he/she will be one year more mature when graduation/adulthood hits.

 

I REALLY do think holding a child back is a fair & smart thing to do. Just do it young.
