Classy 3W. I've read many of your posts and realize you are a big Bears supporter. We are all Harlan Countians and can have 2 schools. :thumb: I was a Trojan and my son is a Dragon.

This game will be a dandy! Wish I could sit atop some ridge to watch both games going on in Harlan County Friday night. Bears by 6 in a game going down to the wire.

Oh yeah. Very sensitive area. No clear solution that I know of. My personal feelings are that it should not be an excuse for losses. I played my last down at the age of sixteen. Granted I was an average player and 1 or 2 years could have made a difference. But I have no regrets. I do feel that it should be a parental decission and should be made at a very young age (4-10) instead of during the middle school years for athletic reasons. There is no doubt about it, a year or two at that age is a very distinct advantage. As a former middle school coach, I never said "they got a bunch of holdbacks" like I heard a million times. I say, Just line up and play! :thumb:

Agreed. I have no solution, but 1 or 2 wins should not get a team in the playoffs. I think it should somehow relate to the overall record which would create scheduling conflicts. Each district should have only 1 representative.

I don't even think Olinger played a down last week vs. Jenkins. I have not seen Hazard yet this year. I expect I'll get a good dose tommorrow night. Wonder why they are not in the MT top 10? I think they stayed in there all last year. :confused:

I agree that some people will say things on here that they may not publicly. But most local people are able to figure out who we are on here. I know several and I believe they know me. That is why I think we should only say things that we would to one another in person. I think coaches should definately use caution in the things they say on BGP as if players, parents and everyone knows their identity. Of the coaches that you know, have you ever been dis-appointed by their comments? If so, you may not have been if you did not know their identity.

BGP is great for all of us footballl fanatics. Although we are able to figure out pretty quickly who our local members are by the things they say. That being said, we all must stand accountable for the things we do and say just as if we are standing in front of a crowd with a microphone. I don't think a computer screen should be used as a place to hide and voice opinions. :thumb:

Very nice field. Parking is a bit strange. We went straight through and parked behind the school. Home side stands are of course much bigger. Visitors side is similar to Evarts visiting side. You are eye level rather than elevated. If you carry a recorder like I do, you should stay on the Home side for elevation. HDE's correct, band sounds great. Unfortunately, we heard the cannon blast off to much. :mad: I don't think you guys will. :thumb:

New BGP rules for coaches: If your team is winning, you may read and post. If your team is losing, you may not read or post. :D:D:D:D

If the HC defense gets good pressure and contains, HC 34 LEE 6. Sounded like the Bears had that vs. Fleming, although Lee is quicker. As I said before, DB's must play assignment.

Does anyone know if there will be radio coverage of this one that can be heard from here in Harlan Co.? If so, what station will carry it? Go Cats and Bears! :fight:

I was primarily expressing my frustrations regarding the HS team's lack of depth in this thread. As far as middle school football, I think they should play other county teams. I do not know why they don't. You should not pick and choose your competition. What are you teaching the kids? I have coached 5/6th football in the past. You could see a lot of fear in those young fellows eyes when you were playing the Patriots. That is very hard to coach out of them, but we never backed down! A lot of those same kids are key players for the Bears as we speak. Good luck guys. :thumb:
