Some may know that I had said all during the off season that Ashland was going to be very good this year, and win their district. I had made those statements many times. And many of the Raceland fans have been saying the very same thing. And, to give credit to those that were there with us, several other people have chimed in and agreed with us.

 

Now the famous Leatherneck called our football knowledge on the carpet and implied that he didn't think we knew as much as we claimed to. I can take being called names, and I take getting my butt kicked, but I can't stand by and let my Football Knowledge be questioned.:lol: He claimed that Johnson Central would be better.

 

So, after three weeks of the season, Ashland is 3-0, and Johnson Central is 0-3 and the margin of Victory has been high, and margin of loss for Johnson Central has been even higher. Now, some will argue the strength of schedule and that is fine, but I think Leatherneck knows that he may have been mistaken, and we knew what we were talking about.

 

Here is what Leatherneck had to say:

 

If Johnson Central is in the district (I think it is), no disrespect intended to Ashland, but I'd be very surprised to see them win the district. JC was much, much better than Ashland last year based on what I saw. With all that JC has coming back, I think JC will be better this year than they were last year. So if Ashland is going to win the district, they are going to have to be considerably better than they were last year. I just don't see it happening.

 

I see them coming in second in the district, ahead of Montgomery and Woodford.

 

Now back to the sandbagging between Raceland and Ashland.

 

Great points. You may be right and I may be wrong. Fortunately for the kids, fat old men like me don't determine the outcome of games. Personally, I hope Ashland wins the district. I've been a fan of the Ashland program for a long, long time. I'll be an even bigger fan if you tell me they don't play god-awful music between plays like they do at JC. Can't stand that stuff. Heck, I don't like it during the pregame.

L'neck has never been what you'd call "opinionated." He has never been one to try to impose his ideas on anyone else. And he certainly isn't one to be evasive about his favorite teams. :thumb:

There are not many opinions on here that I respect more than Rams, but you might be making a mistake by calling this arguement over before it gets started. YES JC lost to two of the best teams in the state by large margins, but they haven't lost a district game yet. I will go against the grain here and say that I agree with Leatherneck. I think when everything shakes out in the end JC will recover from this early season lesson and yes even win the district. There I said it and I ain't backing down. LOL

 

WOW. One think I love/hate about this site is that once you hit the post button you can't take it back, so after I hit the post button I'll go buy some barbecue sauce just in case I have to eat some crow in a few weeks, but at least Leatherneck will be dining with me...
