This ranks as one of the most ignorant things I have ever read on here. Last time I checked success didn't magically happen all by itself, it takes coaching and development through a young man's career to be a player. Just because you have athletes doesn't mean you can just hand it off, see Bryan Station circa 2000-2005. Coaches put players in position to be successful and players make plays, next time you want to write something on here put down the crayons and turn off Nickleodeon so you can concentrate. By the way there is a big difference between 6A and 1A, just watch the games. LCA middle backer 175 pounds, Bryan Station MLB 230 pounds, Henry Clay MLB 225 pounds and both are faster than Hayden.

The UK recuiting guessing game is for another post but seriously,. Congrats again to 55
-
Congrats to #55, he will make his next coach feel blessed to have him. How did UK not recruit 55 or 19, why would you not want 2 beast athletes that dominate at their position? I don't get UK's recruiting strategy.

It is the head coaches responsibility to market their players to college coaches. Any coach that does not do this is cheating his players and not doing right by his kids, period. There is plenty of opportunity for high school coaches to contact schools, send film, meet with recruiters, etc. College coaches want the help, especially the smaller division schools. High school coaches should know generally what level the kid can play at then work to find that kid a home. As the above post stated, technology gives us a multitude of creative new ways to market players from YooTube and recruiting sites like Rivals to emailing film. The only reason not to do this is flat out laziness and is inexcusable.

I heard they decided on an assistant position coach from a school in Alabama. I previously heard they wanted someone with head coaching experience, anyone hear any news about this job?

Who was the best player you watched this year?
some_guy replied to newarkcatholicfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
The most electric player I saw all year was Vinnie Miller from Henry Clay and Tevin McCadden from Bryan Station. McCadden had some amazing runs and Miller was just a Sophmore and surrounded by other good looling kids but he is special. SK fans Miller was #13 that kept ripping off long runs in your game vs HC. -
Obviously you are extremely close to or part of the last staff and I assure you my statement was not a shot at you or the other coaches.

It is not Coach Weiter
-
The new coach will be announced next week, it is not a former or current staff member, but it is a someone that has been a head coach of big school in KY. Manual kids and parents will be happy with the choice once it is made public, be patient. I know this coach will make it a priority to compete with and beat H, X & T.

I think Kris Bolton and Octavian Crutcher are representing BSHS this year. Both are outstanding Linebackers and should do KY proud.

Coach Petersen steps down at Fleming County
some_guy replied to All In's topic in KY Football (High School)
I hear that Jordan Johnson, the offensive coordinator from Bryan Station, has applied for the job. This could be even more possible since the shake up at Station, if he or one of the current staff members, Russell Rigdon or Chris Ballard does not recieve the Head job there. -
Oliver Lucas Resigns at Bryan Station
some_guy replied to billtoo's topic in KY Football (High School)
As a defender fan, we really hope that one of his coordinators will take over to keep this thing rolling in the right direction. Russell Rigdon and Jordan Johnson have both been coordinators for him since coach Lucas arrived, and Chris Ballard has been here from the beginning as well. Lets just hope the administration pushes this forward! -

Sad day for BS but the program is in much better shape now then when Coach Lucas started, hopefully the next coach can pick up and keep it moving in the right direction -
Henry Clay 7 Bryan Station 6 (OT)
some_guy replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Football (High School)
Station is fast, especially on defense which is probably why it was such a defensive game. Both teams had great speed and athleticism and played a great game. -
Simon Kenton/St. Xavier Predictions
some_guy replied to fan4nascar's topic in KY Football (High School)
Before someone starts comparing who each team beat and by how much, please realize that it does not matter and has no bearing on the outcome of this game. St. X rolls on by 3TD's minimum in their quest to meet Trinity in BG. -
Dixie will continue to get out-coached in big games until a chage is made, but the Head man is the AD and I guess he won't be firing himself.

The best defensive high school football game I have ever seen. Too bad it had to end with a missed kick being the deciding factor. Great game by both teams, the kids for both sides played their hearts out. -
I think people are overlooking Shelby County. They could win that game they are a very physical team and can score in bunches on offense.
-
Could not agree more! I think using a points system like Ohio has some merit as well. Put the best 16 in the playoffs every year and crown a true champion.
-
Why should every team be IN the playoffs? So everyone feels better about themselves? What is the benefit of a 60-0 butt kicking for an 0-10 team? Rewards should go to those that EARN them. How do coaches and parents prepare their kids for the real world when the "recognition for participation" philosophy does not apply? When these kids leave school they will have to compete for jobs, compete for promotions and provide for their families where there is no gold star for showing up. Moreover, success should be strived for and rewarded, mediocrity should not be acceptable. The whole point of playing and competing as as kid is to foster a strong work ethic, and learn how to strive for, achieve and accept success. These and other traits help these young people grow into solid and productive adults. If we do not have the courage to teach them these lessons as young adults, when do they learn it?
-
I personally don't like this format either. I would love to see KY go to a points system like Ohio. It would discourage the 5A or 6A school vs 1A school matchups, which would give us a better idea of who a team is going into the playoffs. Cut the playoffs to 16 teams and take the best 16 using the points system. It would improve the cometition in every round and State champs would have to beat the best to get the title, no more cupcake games in the playoffs. The big hurdle is the participation generation bull, everyone should not get a chance at the title, period. This is football not soccer, forget the orange slices and juice boxes and teach the kids how to earn something and work for your reward. You should have to earn your spot, put some meaning back into the regular season and district title.

Ryle/Pleasure Ridge Park Predictions
some_guy replied to oldjarhead's topic in KY Football (High School)
They run the wing-T which is tricky to prepare for and have good team speed. Ryle should win but PRP won't be a pushover. -
nothing serious, I think just resting some bumps and bruises
-
Good win for Station, played on a soggy track without McCaden. Defense helped win this one, 2 safties, one resulting in a kickoff return for a TD.
