Did anyone besides me find this surprising? And the article goes on to say he will continue to coach, just elsewhere. Was there problems at Fleming County? Can't believe they would try and force him out or something to that extent. Was he just wanting a change? Any Fleming County fans have any scoop or comments on this? Thanks.

Link to article?

It is in today's Maysville Ledger-Independent, not sure on how to do a link to it, am sure several on here from Mason County could though, two page article. Seems to be a lot of changes headed Fleming's way in the school system, coaching, etc.

It was beyond time for a change.

Change from winning? Don't get those comments. Any chance where he may end up?

Great football coach, very well respected by his coaching peers, even better role model and man. Congrats on great tenure at Fleming County.

Agree 100%

I played at Lawrence Co in the early 90's and Flemming along with Russell was always our best competition. He always did a great job then. I got to know him better when I started coaching. He is a good man and I have a lot of respect for him and how available he was to me as a young coach back then. Best wishes to him and to Flemming Co. I hope Billy Spencer has first crack if he stays around! I know he loves the kids there!

I wonder if Petersen wil coach someone else? Seems like when reading the article it says he still wants to coach.

What about when he's run up the score? Not saying that makes a person a bad individual, but it doesn't set a very good example IMO.

Sounds like he was forced out of office in my opinion. Like to see Billy Spencer get the job but the way things go in Fleming I think him getting the job is a longshot

He will be coaching in 2011.
