Go 'Birds! Now that's a playoff win!

No surprise

I think holding Dixie scoreless is surprising. Especially after the way they played last week.

Good luck next week against J.C. Keep the 5A title in N.Ky. :thumb:

I really expected Dixie to give them a better game. And it wasn't because Dixie made an outrageous number of mistakes or turned it over a lot. The Birds just played a heck of a game. Can't wait to see what they can do against the "smashmouth football" they will face next week. :thumb:

Birds Defense was hitting HARD!!!!! :taz: Go get em Birds!

Last week doesn't count.

Extremely hard!!!!! Great game by all the birds players!!! I was on the rail(rail bird) and I knew the game was over before it started. I have been to tons of Highlands games and this is the most fired up Bluebird team I have ever seen in the pregame warm-ups. Coach Mueller and staff should be commended for the great preparation of this game!!! Johnson Central is next so be prepared for the run ! Go Birds, one game at a time!!

2 questions. Why not receive the openning kickoff? Why put all 2nd stringers on the kickoff team against a fast Highlands team?

When they were running sprints before the game, I heard Coach Mueller yell out, "Okay, where are all the slow guys at?!" At least that's what I think he said. You could tell they were not prepared to take any prisoners! :ylsuper:

Did anyone see, tonight, what was quite possibly the greatest catch ever made at DCM?*

Why ask why??? Dixie does alot of stuff I don't get..

Yea, like trying to run the ball and throwing short passes when all week we heard that Dixie was going to go against and show the weaknesses of Highlands DB's. And this was only the second quarter. So much for Dixie's game plan. In the 4th quarter, their recievers weren't too froggy about catching the ball, especially over the middle.

Good job Birds. I said Dixie would have to score 50 to make it a game. Highlands is an impressive of a high school football team I've seen in many years. Number 78 for Dixie had a lot of heart.

Really, so Dixie deferred! Wow! And you are saying the Spritzky put all second teamers on their kick coverage team. Is this a first for the year or is this how Spritzky does it? I know a lot of teams put a mix of starters and non-starters on special teams, but I am getting from this that this isn't the norm and maybe there was something that happened that forced Spritzky to do that.
