  1. Just keep coaching em up, they are coming around and a little success this week could be the catalyst for a great year.
  2. Congrats to GRC, way to rebound from last week and come out with the win.
  3. True that, but HHS is probably the only squad in NKY that has excellent team speed but even they saw better athletes vs Bryan Station last year. All I'm saying is if you watch some of these NKY teams plod around the field every week you lose your barometer for what speed looks like. I doubt that Male or Manual or St. X or Trinity or Bryan Station are enamoured with Clay's speed.
  4. Perhaps you watch too much NKY football and need to make it down to Lex or Lou to watch some teams that can run. By the way while you were at the real game did you not notice the SK WR's beating HC defenders deep on multiple occations, if the Winkler kid catches those two deep balls it's a different game.
  5. I'll say it again Wesern is getting overlooked. The size and speed they put on the field could cause fits for some of the 4A powers this year.
  6. Tevin McCaden from Bryan Station - 4 games - 889 yards - 15 TD's and the kid played the last two games with a pulled groin and still averaged 220 in those games. If you have seen the kid play then you know he is one of the best in the state. McShara is doing a great job and his stats are awesome vs mighty Pikeville and Rockcastle, I'm interested to see what he does against Lafayette and Lex Cath to see if he is legit.
  7. I was disappointed in SK, they dropped a very winnable game. Fumbled the opening kickoff and spotted HC 7 to start the game then fumbled the punt after they closed to within a TD of the lead. HC's speed is overrated, SK had just as much talent on the field but failed to execute. Anyone who was there saw that the SK defense shut down the jet sweep and outside running game at times but did not play with intensity on defense for the entire game. Penalties and turnovers were the difference, I still think SK has a legit shot at returning to the title game if they are firing on all cylinders.
  8. I would have to nominate Coach Lucas at Bryan Station for the turn around him and his staff have made at Station over the last 4 years, they have quickly became a state power in 6A. Although, he is new to Kentucky he has been turning programs around in other states for years. Great job Bryan Station coaches!!!
  9. 7 Scott County 5 Tates Creek 3 Washington County 2 Franklin County 1 Glasgow TB - Scott Co.
  10. It is not a first, the 2 years before Teegarden took over the wildcats were 5-5 & 6-4
  11. 5 Shelby Valley 3 Tates Creek 3 Bowling Green 1 Marion County 1 Christian County 1 Holy Cross-Louisville 1 Clay County 1 Manual 1 Calloway County 1 Woodford County TB - 49
  12. What happened to GRC? I've seen both these teams live and I though GRC looked much better than anything Dunbar had, disappointing for GRC-great win for Dunbar
  13. Station is 4-0 after tonight's win. Tough battle, Western is pretty darn good and has some outstanding talent. The QB #18 and the WR #2 are amazing, after putting 34 on Male they gave the Defenders all they could handle. If anyone wants a sleeper in 4A I pick Western.
  14. The JV comment was a little over the top. All I was trying to say was that it is a different level of ball. That's why I think they need 2 awards so the small school kids can get some recognition for their hard work. It will be be fun to see how the debate shakes out. FYI McCaden for Bryan Station had 178 yards on 31 carries and 1 TD tonight.
  15. Every level has poor teams. Yes Iriquois is not very good but there are some really bad small schools as well. If you need to compare the best that 1A and 2A have to offer against the very worst of 5A or 6A then my point is proven. For more evidence see the score of the Central - Henry Clay game. Central will have a chance to win 3A again this year and was completely outclassed by a good 6A team.
  16. It is not a presidential election, canidates do not stay static. Weaver is out for the season, Fugate hasn't done much yet this year and the Patterson kid has been underwhelming in his performances this year. We need to have the poll redone or start a new thread that includes kids that are having great years this year which is the intent of the award. I get tired of hearing about how great a player was last year, that was then and this is now. P.S. - we need 2 Mr. Football awards 1A-3A and 4A-6A, otherwise stop suggesting 2A kids for Mr. Football, they play JV compared to 5A and 6A.
  17. I realize all teams may not report stats, however Tevin McCadden from Bryan Station has 727 yards rushing on 61 carries and 14 touchdowns resulting in 84 points scored, nearly doubling Collinsworth. I don't understand how McCadden can be flying under everyones radar!
  18. All I know is the Manual - Colerain game will take about 2 hrs to play. Wing-T vs. Triple option, should be called the time warp game or the all 70's bowl.
  19. 7 Lexington Catholic 5 Lexington Christian Academy 3 Mason County 2 Henry Clay 1 West Jessamine TB - LCA
  20. 7 Beechwood 5 Covington Catholic 3 Dixie Heights 2 Dayton 1 Boone County TB - Beechwood
  21. GRC cruises and wins by at least 28, unless the JV gives up 21 again this week
  22. Good for Station to get the city win but both teams were sloppy and the game was a penalty fest. Good to see Tates has improved from last year should see some more wins. I would love to see this Station team if they put it all together they could make a deep playoff run.
  23. 5 Cincinnati St. Xavier, OH 3 Holmes 3 Rowan County 1 Campbell County 1 Dixie Heights 1 East Carter 1 Lynn Camp 1 Pulaski County 1 Ashland 1 Bell County 65
  24. 7 Somerset 5 East Jessamine 3 Corbin 2 Boone County 1 West Jessamine TB - somerset
