  1. Ivan Maglone at Russell, he runs the same thing year after year and has 30 years and 2 or 3 state titles to show for it.
  2. You have to know how this offense works, thats part of it pound, pound, pound and then break one i.e. fullback Hensley in the first half and Carter in the second. The more you run it the more break one's, but you still have to have the pound, pound, pound. We need to keep coming, keep cheering, keep supporting and keep backing this coaching staff and team. Great win GC!!!:ylsuper:
  3. Fact is Carter played JFL in Greenup Co. and was then moved out of state so he could have been here all along. Lets do this you take everyone off of your team that has transfered in and we'll do the same and see what the teams look like.:sssh:
  4. Smooth move Doc try to fire them up. BTW I heard that the Ram team said they would beat Greenup by 50. Your move.
  5. Is this telling me that Mason Rister won't be the QB:confused::confused::confused:
  6. I heard that things went great, that the GC players were perfect gentlemen and left the camp feeling good about themselves.
  7. Don't know if anyone has mentioned it but we have a member of the GC football family that needs everyones thoughts and prayers. He has spent a big part of his adult life teaching young men how to play the game of football and how to prepare for the game of life, (He even coached me several years ago). He has coached at all levels in the GC system through the years and most recentlly came out of retirement 4 or 5 years ago to volunteer his time and knowledge to help the High School. He will be facing some rough times with the medical treatments he's facing but he's a tough old bird and I wish him the best. Good Luck Coach!
  8. Can't argue with the success but :puke: it does make me a little sick.
  9. The Meadows kid from Bath Co. was a beast, he dominated the line and was fun to watch even though he was on the wrong team. Just a shout out to the only Greenup Co. rep at the game Joe Bob Greenslate he was fun to watch and has been for the last 4 years. Classy move by the kid to ask for and wear number 3 in honor of a fallen team mate.
  10. Congrats to the Rams and Coach's Hoof and Fannin. I say lets make it a Greenup Co. vs Raceland final.
  11. What's your thoughts on this one this evening? I'm going with RH, this would be a great boost for a very young team, and a much needed win for Coaches Roy and Wells.
  12. I think GC will win but they better not take anything for granted. You know Russell would like nothing better than to end their string of regional championships. GC 8-3
  13. I'm picking Lewis Co. with a late come back.
  14. I have known this young man for years, watched him play, watched him coach, watched him become a husband and dad. He is very passionate about the game and winning and very passionate about teaching kids how to become young men and women. Great choice in my opinion.:dancingpa
  15. In the great words of the little kid in Angels in the Outfield "it could happen".
  16. Bring back the NEKC(NorthEasternKentuckyConference) I remember it was Russell, Raceland, Wurtland, Greenup(no football) and McKell. I can't remember was Boyd or Cattletsburg or Fairview in it?
  17. Tell me if there is any truth in this, I heard that if GC would win the State in baseball that about 8 kids said they would play football. I don't know if any of them could play but it would be nice to have more kids that you know are athletes:confused:
  18. What went on at the Rose Hill game yesterday, I heard that both head coach's got tossed.:taz:
  19. I heard that there was a special board meeting tonight about the football facilities, any news?
  20. I agree, spring ball is a chance for kids that haven't played for a while or at all to try it out. If they don't like it then they don't waste time in the fall and you might just find some kids that can really help the program. I also say everyone practices the first two weeks of April. Basketball is done and you just lose the baseball guys. Track guys can work around practice most of the time.
  21. Sounds like Ram may be getting nerveous about the new coach and the talk of kids coming out to play. It may not be so easy for the Rams this fall.
  22. I'm a firm beliver that small schools can compete with large in b-ball. Being one of only two states that still has only one class makes us stand out IMO. Why do we want to be like every one else?
  23. Maybe during a timeout Craft told Trey that if he would cut to the right he could hit him with a pass and he could score and Fraley thought they were talking about football and benched them?:idunno:
