sidelinedoc Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 With the new season upon us, any predictions or excpectations for this one?
Cubster Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 It is a scrimmage. Not a big deal. Both teams will play a lot of kids to get them experience.
ryanparker Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I agree. If it weren't a scrimmage, I would predict Raceland by a landslide, but since it doesn't matter, who knows?
sidelinedoc Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 I agree. If it weren't a scrimmage, I would predict Raceland by a landslide, but since it doesn't matter, who knows? Guys, that is the reason I ask for expectations. Everyone knows that 2008 was a great year for the Rams and a lot has been said with regards to whether they can uphold the success. I agree, the score means nothing but I am interested in how the green horns respond to the "Friday Night Lights" atmosphere. I realize we have a few out with injuries but the anticipation of this Grid by our own fans as well as the outsiders seems to be growing.
Ram Fan04 Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I'm not real concerned with the score on the big board for this one. As long as they get better and prepare for next Saturday against the Lions. :thumb: But the score should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 28-7.
Ram Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I think this game will be more of a game type scrimmage simply because we only have one scrimmage this year. Normally, the first scrimmage is pretty laid back, as far as who plays and what is worked on, and the second scrimmage is more game like. But, with this being the first, and only, scrimmage, I kind of expect at least one or two quarters to be full throttle. I expect we will see some stuff done to work on confidence, that would be what I prescribe. I think we first will a steady dose of the running game with Troxler, Kelley, Litteral, and Burchett. I then think they will move to some passing game to give Farley some confidence in the pocket. I'm sure there won't be any fancy stuff, just some drop backs, some screens, and some dives. Just a scrimmage, but much work to be done.

Ram Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 As long as the dives are on running plays! I'm old school, I guess they are called "leads" now.

oldrambler Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I voted Raeland but really a scriommage is a practice. I know that Raceland will be trying different things out an feel that WC will use it as practice as well. May both tems stay injury free. :thumb:
oldrambler Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Does anyone know if there will b radio coverage for this grid-o-rama? Thanks in advance for any info.
oldrambler Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I'm old school, I guess they are called "leads" now. Me too, the only other type "dives" that I knew were located across the bridge. :eyeonyou:
Ram Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Is this telling me that Mason Rister won't be the QB:confused::confused::confused: Mason has a minor injury right now.
oldrambler Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Mason has a minor injury right now. We are the walking wounded. :ohbrother: I certainly hope this season will not be another 07' type season for injuries (at one time we had 5- 2 way starters - 10 total starters on both sides of the ball out)
