Last year's Greenup Freshman wore out Russell's Freshman and this year's Greenup Seniors beat Russell as Freshman by just a couple of points. With all that being said it looks like a tie to me.:lol:

Crafts injury happened on the last play of the first half, they had seen enough and no need to take a chance after that. He was throwing on the sideline later so it couldn't have been very bad. Mason looked pretty good he may be the best back-up in the area, both sides of the river. Ironton looked to be back to Lutz standards, I don't know where he gets them but they are very big and very fast.

When and where are GC's scrimmage games this year. Do we have Ironton again?

What's the news from the GC camp? I've herad rumors that some kids from last years team are not out. I thought with the playoff run last year that every boy in the school would want to be part of the team. I guess the coaching staff will have to prove that last year was not a fluke and that things are getting better at GC.

Well they got Coach Zornes back, maybe they are wooing Coach Hamilton back. Sorry BC Coach Ross has already found a new job.

Just heard that Wheelersburg, OH got beat today in the Ohio State Tour. 7 to 2. I was kind of hoping for a state championship on both sides of the river. That would give us bragging rights because of our win over them at the end of the regular season.

I believe that LC beat GC 5 - 2 in the first game of the season for GC then about 3/4 of the way through the season GC beat LC (ranked # 21 at the time)9 - 4 and the next weekend played a tour. in Lexington and won 3 games where one of those teams was ranked # 12 at the time and GC hasn't been beaten since. They may not win another game but up to this point I think they have represented GC and the 16th pretty well state wide. P.S. They also beat Wheelersburg, OH which was unbeaten and ranked #2 in OH.

I've been hearing that some of the coaching staff from last year might not be back. Have they moved on to other jobs or is this a decision by the head coach. Coupon 21 and Sun any insight?

See I told you long ago that they had brought in a ringer to work with their pitchers. I hear that Coach Logan down at GC let him slip away last year. :walk:???

If they do go for a younger coach I've heard that one of the the receivers coaches at Greenup Co. is going to be a good one. I think his name is Mullins.

I think it may help them to follow the UK plan and bring in an older veteran coach that can build the program and groom a younger coach to take over when the program is on more solid ground. That way maybe the younger coach will get seeded in the program and won't want to leave for greener pasture.

If the Adkins kid will stay out, I think he kicked as a freshman.

If he did that would fall right into the GCHS history timeline like when Phillip Haywood (Belfry) applied for the football job and they didn't hire him. I hope for Coach Sammons sake that Mr. Fraley has grown up or changed his opinion of basketball players playing football. I remember a few years back Mr. Fraley treated some football players very poorly. I hope this does not become another factor that would hurt both programs.

My bad, the hyphenated Greenup is what really fired me up to start with. I'll be good Dad but he started it and I wasn't even touching him.:lol:

I guess I shouldn't get so riled up but I usually don't chime in on teams that I haven't seen play but just know that their record wasn't that great. Like Frank-lin Co. I know they had a good record last year but I don't know how good they were or how good the comptetion was that they played so I just won't comment on Frank-lin Co.

Was that not the same team that beat Franklin Co. the week before? If being from a "weak" district means that you play like GC did the last 6 games then I hope we stay in a "weak" district. You could not have ask for any better from a bunch of young men than what GC got the at the end of the season.

I don't know if you were at the Harrison Co. game but I was and they weren't banged up until the GC game. Their main RB was knocked out of the game and their FB was hobbled with an ankle injury during the game. GC lost the game but was probably in better physial shape to play LC the next week.

Greenup Co. wound up 2 points away from the final 4 last year. If they can keep the train rolling they could make some noise.:walk:

I can't understand the reasoning. I just heard that his two star players may me moving southwest down around Toyota-ville. Euton's step brother left Greenup to get away from Ward and now it looks like he may be getting away from Ward's mini me.
