Rankings

1. George Rogers Clark (25-7) -The Cardinals are the favorites to win the region, now that Bourbon County is eliminated. They get the region at home.

2. Montgomery County (20-12) – The Indians came back from 17 points to upset Bourbon County. They lost to Clark County for the third time this season. They are in the region for the first time since they hosted in 2016.

3. Robertson County (24-5) – Robertson County easily won the 38th district, as expected.

4. Campbell County (17-14) – The Camels had a great district tournament. They rolled past a decent Calvary Christian team before beating Bishop Brossart in the district finals.

5. Mason County (18-11) – The Royals struggled to put away Bracken County and Augusta in the district games.

6. Bishop Brossart (24-6) – The Mustangs have faltered down the stretch. They almost lost their first-round district game to Scott, then they lost to Campbell County in the district finals.

7. Pendleton County (12-19) – The Wildcats barely got past Harrison County in the first round of the district. Pendleton and Augusta are well below the top 6 remaining teams.

8. Augusta (14-18) – The Panthers got a favorable draw in the district and defeated St. Patrick. It would take a major upset for Augusta to make a deep run.

Bracket Analysis:

Regarding bracket winners, George Rogers Clark got a good draw. Robertson County and Mason County got tough draws. They will likely need to beat 3 good teams in order to win.

The best first round matchups look to be Robertson County vs Bishop Brossart and Mason County vs Montgomery Counry. Pendleton County may give Campbell County a scare.

Finally giving MoCo ranking they deserve.

Montgomery County is playing well down the stretch!

The way this bracket sets up I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Camels win. Coach Russell has to be considered one of the best coaches in the State and he knows what it takes to win the Region. I still think Montgomery and GRC are th favorites but this should be a great tourney.

I feel like Montgomery County vs. Mason County is the best matchup of the opening round.

The RC vs BB should be a good game as well as MoCo vs Mason.

Montgomery went 3-6 to close out January. Takes time to climb the rankings after that kind of a run. Fortunately for them, they've been able to do that.
