December 4, 201114 yr 1. Davis blocks jump shots like no one I have ever seen. It is an uncanny skill set that just happened to play out late and seal the win for UK. Getting Henson in that situation is uncanny, but just one of the things Davis does that has everyone that has seen him play convinced he is the top pick in the next draft. 2. The MKG/Barnes battle at NBPA Camp 2 years ago was replayed today. I love Barnes talent and skill, but he has never been that clutch guy in any of the big time battles I have seen him in. MKG has been that guy every time I have seen him in a situation like today. I'm with Cal in the fact that I don't care who I have on my roster, I'm starting MKG every time and winning at a big time level with him on the floor. 3. I have said all along this team sinks or swims with Teague. Right now he is allowing them to tread water without going under, and how he progresses is going to determine where UK sits come March. He didn't turn it over today, and despite some bad shots allowed UK to be in position to win. He is going to be hot and cold shooting, and he is going to take shots that make UK fans crazy. As long as he can grasp his role as it continues to develop UK is the top dog. He didn't hurt them today outside of a bad jumper or two and a missed FT. That is going to be best case for the next month or so and then it will be time for him to make that push for this team to be great or just really good...
December 4, 201114 yr I was one of those. I underestimated the value of length. Well don't worry I was perfectly ok with you being wrong lol. I was concerned just because so many people were preaching it but in all honesty its not like UNC has a lot of BIG size, just height really. I liked the decision to double down on Zeller often.
December 4, 201114 yr Did T Jones score in the last 15 minutes of the game? He disappeared after a great start. I thought MkG and D Miller played well. Down the stretch I would like to see them both on the floor together. A good early season win.
December 4, 201114 yr This game was exactly how I expected it to be. Did it seem to anybody else that in the 2nd half, UNC came out very sluggish and not very determined? Maybe it's just me. Very happy with how we played. Had some dumb turnovers, but that stuff comes with more and more experience.
December 4, 201114 yr After having a little longer to digest what happened yesterday here's another thing I'd like to bring up. All season long most teams have tried to slow Carolina down and make them play a different kind of game than they would like. Mich St. turned it into a physical game on the air craft carrier, UNLV made Carolina play the way they wanted to play, its happened a few times this year. BUT, what is ultra impressive to me is Kentucky beat Carolina playing Carolina's game. They didn't run the four corners and milk the clock and hope for the best, they didn't play stall ball, they played the game the way Carolina would have wanted to play it and how they are best. Not only did Kentucky play and beat Carolina at their own game, they also beat them on a day in which Carolina was playing very good. I know both teams are going to get better as the season wears on but I'm not sure Kentucky can play a better Carolina team than they did yesterday. They were hitting from outside, Marshall was scoring, had Bullock and Hairston scoring off the bench. Barnes was hitting, Zeller and Henson looked good down low, especially Henson, I mean Henson was hitting that mid range all day long. Just a big time effort and result for the Big Blue IMO. Took the best Carolina could dish out and still walked away with the W. Gotta love this team....
December 4, 201114 yr So happy with this win yesterday. I love our team and the scary thing in my mind is that we still have a pretty long way to go in my opinion. I love this squad. D Lamb's threes were huge, kid shoots with such confidence.

December 5, 201114 yr What about Darius?He came off of the bench and took control of this team...With out Miller the cats would have lost this game by 10 or more...This team will go as far as Darius takes them...GT is there any other senior upper class man in college basketball more important to their team than Darius Miller???
