Me and a buddy were talking and what we were saying is when UK and UNC are hitting from deep they are virtually unbeatable. When they are hitting the only teams that may be able to maintain and beat them are each other, today it was Kentucky. Really has me pumped that Carolina can have a 3pt shooting game like that along with Henson and Zeller being double figures and Kentucky still wins. That says a lot IMO. Great game!

Double WOW! High School coaches should listen to the post game interview with all americans talking about playing team ball. Davis was outstanding at letting the game come to him, was not a huge factor on offense but he was getting all the love after the game for the defensive stop. Players at the youngest level should be made to understand that concept. GREAT WIN FOR THE CATS!

Great win for the young Wildcats. Teage has a long, long way to go to be the leader we need at point gaurd.

Congrats to the youthfull Cats in a big early test. NC was lights out from the land of 3. Lamb,Miller, and Gilcrist all played huge games today.

Agreed. They overcame a huge UNC effort and still found a way. Impressive.

I do like a lot of things Teague does at PG. He is very good handling the ball and never gets stuck by picking up his dribble. As long as he remembers that he isn't Knight or Wall and doesn't get caught up in needing to get points, he is going to be very good. Shoot enough to keep them honest. Get to work on shooting free throws if you want to be on the floor at the end of close games.

Great win, I was working, so only got to see bits, and pieces of the game. Two comments from CBS's # 1 team that really made me laugh.

 

 

Clark Kellog while commenting on the fact that the foul on Henson should have been two shots, while they were battling for a rebound.

 

"He had two hands on the ball, so that's a good call. Definitely a 2 shot foul. " Huh?

 

 

 

Nantz when UNC let the time run out after the Davis block.

Needs to work on his outside shot as well.

I love the second half adjustments by Coach Cal...he slowed the game down and made it more of a half court battle. We can win that game, UNC can't.

 

If Teague ever consistently hits that floater in the lane, he will be a monster. He get into the lane at will. Gilchrist outplays Barnes again- Barnes went 1-7 from 2 point range. He hit those 3's to inflate his stats.

 

I hope we see these guys again. I think we can beat UNC everyday and twice on Sunday. There is no way they hit 3's like that again on us, IMO.

Big adjustment on defense by Cal in the second half around the 8 minute mark when he started doubling down on Zeller. That caught UNC off guard and allowed UK to get the lead and control of the game.

It'll be interesting to see if UK still maintains the #1 ranking even after this impressive result. Ohio State was so strong the other day against Duke. But if UK does hold onto it after this week, I believe they'll be #1 at least up to the Louisville game.

Carolina was shooting 3's like hitting lay-ups. They will never be that consistent from behind the arc the rest of the year. Teagur walked at the end and needs to grow up fast to be top PG in the nation. LOVE THE CATS!!! Anthony Davis showing up huge.
