December 5, 201114 yr Terrance Jones needs to realize he is a big man and post up. He also needs to realize he does not need to match 3 for 3.
December 5, 201114 yr Terrance Jones needs to realize he is a big man and post up. He also needs to realize he does not need to match 3 for 3. By the same token, it's not wise to shoehorn a guy with his diverse skills into a narrow role. Thought you Wildcat fans figured that out after the Rondo experiment.

Don't understand all the fuss either? Jones has been knocking down 3's at a good clip this season. The UNC game was probably the most he's shot in a game all year. Usually he only shoots them when he has a good open look and they have been going down for the most part. People whining and crying about it is beyond me. Let's not act like it's all he does, he's been getting work done on the inside too.
December 5, 201114 yr That is an ongoing problem with Jones IMO. Players will do what you let them do. If Cal doesn't like those shots he needs to let him sit and think about it.

The problem is when that's all he shoots like the 2nd half yesterday. Sometimes you need to put the ball on the floor and utilize your size, athletic ability, and skill.

But in the first half Saturday, he was doing the bulk of his damage in the paint or driving the ball. I'm okay with Jones shooting from the perimeter as long as it's here-and-there & not his only shot attempts.
December 5, 201114 yr I just watched the game again for the 4th time and I wanted to ask a question. At the 15:49 mark of the first half when Terrence Jones took Henson to the rack and dunked on him I noticed when he caught the ball, it appeared he changed his pivot foot. Can anyone else who had the game DVR'ed watch this and let me know if you think this is a travel? I know it's not a big deal and meaningless, but I just wanted to see if the refs missed that one. Any officials out there??

December 5, 201114 yr 1. Davis blocks jump shots like no one I have ever seen. It is an uncanny skill set that just happened to play out late and seal the win for UK. Getting Henson in that situation is uncanny, but just one of the things Davis does that has everyone that has seen him play convinced he is the top pick in the next draft. 2. The MKG/Barnes battle at NBPA Camp 2 years ago was replayed today. I love Barnes talent and skill, but he has never been that clutch guy in any of the big time battles I have seen him in. MKG has been that guy every time I have seen him in a situation like today. I'm with Cal in the fact that I don't care who I have on my roster, I'm starting MKG every time and winning at a big time level with him on the floor. 3. I have said all along this team sinks or swims with Teague. Right now he is allowing them to tread water without going under, and how he progresses is going to determine where UK sits come March. He didn't turn it over today, and despite some bad shots allowed UK to be in position to win. He is going to be hot and cold shooting, and he is going to take shots that make UK fans crazy. As long as he can grasp his role as it continues to develop UK is the top dog. He didn't hurt them today outside of a bad jumper or two and a missed FT. That is going to be best case for the next month or so and then it will be time for him to make that push for this team to be great or just really good... I am someone who liked MKG and the energy he plays with. However I had no seen what made him one of the top players this year until the UNC game. He looked like a more talented Liggins to me, but he really took off during this game. I loved how he played he was attacking on offense and defenese and was getting huge rebounds. Big time players step up in big games, and he did that! Now I see what you and others have talked about with him!

Jones maybe shot one or two too many, but he was shooting 70+% going into the UNC game from three point land, so I'm not really sure about all the fuss either.

Wow 70%, thats huge. That's what you like to see out of your 4 man (considering he still grabs boards and gets points in the paint). I knew it had to be high but I wasn't figuring that high. IMO Jones' outside stroke has been one of the best parts of his game this season, obviously others will disagree.

Pretty easy to spot.

He's still 50% after the UNC game I believe. Of course he hadn't taken more than 2 in game until going 1 of 5 vs UNC.
