So, what I'm reading in these last few posts is that Houston is the new Boise State for people looking to argue.

Texas beat UCLA 49-20 just two weeks later. At least Boise State went to Georgia and got a win. Houston doesn't have a win that stamps them as a legitimate contender.

Nobody is saying that about them. But to have some BCS credentials, you have to have a little more than a 4-point win over a mid-level Pac-12 team.

I, and most of the country, are pretty darned sure you're wrong. Is your Buckeye Love that blinding that you're incapable of reason when it comes to assessing teams?

They're No. 8 in the BCS rankings so they're in the discussion. They'll earn a BCS berth and I guess we'll see what happens. I wouldn't want to play them.

 

They may very well win their BCS game since it won't be against teams named LSU or Alabama. From what I can see, nobody outside of those two teams bothers to play defense. Houston is right in that mix with everybody else.

I did not want to see a LSU verses Alabama rematch, but if they both win out that is the only realistic option now. I really want to see Arkansas beat LSU just so the BCS can do about 4 more back flips before it’s all said and done.

The same way an undefeated Hawaii team with a Heisman finalist, prolific passing QB, took it to a two-loss Georgia team a few years ago in the Sugar Bowl?

I posted the information about the tiebreaker upthread, but I'll rehash it a bit here.

 

In this scenario, we're assuming that Arkansas beats LSU and LSU drops behind both Alabama and Arkansas. At that point, which one is higher in the BCS becomes irrelevant. The three team tiebreaker says that the highest ranked team in the BCS goes to the title game unless the second highest team is five or less spots behind them in the BCS. If that is the case, it reverts to head to head between those two teams only. So since Alabama beat Arkansas, it won't matter which one is in front of the other since there is no way Alabama falls more than five spots behind Arkansas without a loss to Auburn which would make this moot anyway.

I'm just saying if LSU loses, they're more deserving than Alabama to play for the championship, because the Tigers very recently beat the Tide on their own home field. If both LSU & Alabama win out (which I think they will), they play for the title. And I think they are the two best teams. But I don't see the logic in placing one-loss Alabama over one-loss LSU since their matchup was so recent.

 

Randy, I don't make the rules if LSU loses they will not jump back ahead of the Hogs and Bama, just isn't fair but they lost and had a chance to win, Bama lost and won three (if we beat Auburn), Now what you say comes true and the Hogs beat LSU then we play LSU thats fine with me, but what does the Hogs say?

Houston can play in a BCS bowl, but not in the National game, they have to be in a BCS Conference to qualify, so all the Houston talk isn't even legal. if it was OK, put then in it, but that won't happen, why are they 11-0 and ranked where they are now and not #2?
