Randy, there is no Automatic bid to the National Championship game, no conference has a tie in to it. If the SEC did, what would the other conference say? How fair would that be? PAC12 Big 12 ACC Big 10 Big East.

 

If the Hogs beat LSU the BCS ranking come into play you have a three way tie. The team with the highest ranking plays Georgia, so the Hogs would have to leap over Bama who beat the Hogs by 24 points. So there is no way the Hogs are in the SEC game, they lost to Bama. They have discussed this all day.

 

What I was saying was that if Arkansas won those two games, they would be SEC champs & would be in the title game. I haven't kept up as much with the tiebreaker scenario.

Look at the standings....The margin between Bama and Arkansas isn't all the big. There's a greater gap between LSU & Arkansas. Arkansas lost to Bama and has won 7 times since then. Now, I'm not saying they will jump Bama, but they certainly could. To act like it's impossible is just being illogical.

Arkansas...Now I'll admit, part of that is my bias against Bama, however I feel a win @LSU is more impressive than Alabama beating Arkansas @Bama. :idunno:

Kind of what I'm thinking, but I don't have a bias against Bama. I actually want to see Bama & LSU in the national title game, so I want LSU to win out (and Bama too, of course). But when you compare those three teams in a three-way tie scenario, I think you look at the victories against one another. LSU & Arkansas would both have road victories, while Bama is at home. Thought I'm not sure there's a barometer in place that would really make it a fair shake for any of the three.

 

I really think LSU beats Arkansas anyway. If they do, then I think it's LSU/Alabama, assuming the Tide take care of business against Auburn.

BCS has said if Bama beats Auburn and the Hogs beat LSU Bama goes to play Georgia. Its not me saying these things, ESPN talks to people who know things. The only way the Hogs make it if Bama loses to Auburn, and they defeat LSU. We beat Auburn we are in. We are pulling for LSU, let them play another game as we sit back. LSU loses to Georgia, LSU still might play Bama in the BCSCG, now again that one was not me, ESPN BCS expert.

 

But I'm really happy y'all got off "if Georgia wins they go because of the SEC automatic bid." That was driving me crazy. And I could see how all of this gets really old and of me repeating myself. And if Auburn beats us...you gonna get a very quite Bama Fan on here.

Yes, that is correct so if Bama wins they are higher with a win at #24 Auburn. Not me saying this, BCS saying it.

You know what I think would be awesome. And, I would love to see it play out this way.

So if GA or Ark. wins against LSU or the West winner, and LSA/Bama remain 1 and 2 in the BCS standings, it could take three teams from the SEC.

Houston can play in a BCS bowl, but not in the National game, they have to be in a BCS Conference to qualify, so all the Houston talk isn't even legal. if it was OK, put then in it, but that won't happen, why are they 11-0 and ranked where they are now and not #2?

For sure, if the #1 team is from the Sun Belt and the #2 is from Conference USA then that will be your championship.

Georgia gets an automatic bid to what? There is no such thing as an automatic bid to the BCSCG, you have the PAC12, you have the Big East, the ACC, The Big Ten, you then have the SEC, so how does the SEC have the Automatic Bid, and Georgia is not in the top 10 BCS standings.

 

If Georgia wins the SEC they will go to the BCS Sugar Bowl, If LSU wins they will go to the BCSCG and play either Bama/Hogs and the team left out goes to the BCS Sugar Bowl. Hogs or Bama. Georgia losing in the SECCG goes to a very nice bowl.

 

The BCS wants the two highest rated teams and it might be LSU/Bama/Hogs, same if Michigan and Ohio State were 11-0 /10-1 and LSU Bama were 8-3/ 9-2. Michigan and Ohio State are the two highest rated teams in the BCS so then they would play in the natonal championship game...Hope this helps some.

Ok. I was wrong then, but why isn't Houston rated number 2 right now and they are not a member of a BCS conference. Again, This is what they have said on ESPN, its not me. The C-USA, Big Sky, Sun Belt teams cannot play in the BCSCG, thats what they said, to be fair let Houston play LSU and I'll watch it.

What I get tired of is how deserves what. As fans we deserve to see a playoff and have this settled on the field.
