I think it was last saturdays game against the Sooners. It would be great for Bama if OSU loses to the Sooners and I think it will happen. Also Clemson to beat Va. tech for the second time also helps us, but I don't Clemson can do it. listening to this guy give Georgia its due was interesting, he made some valid points. Might be a very good game.

I think Alabama and LSU are the two best teams. However, if I had a vote, I wouldn't vote for them. I would vote to be entertained, and a rematch does not entertain me. If we were really and truly committed to pitting the two best teams, we would have a playoff. None of the schools will commit to that because of money. So if they won't commit to a playoff, then I won't commit to voting "the two best teams," as Saban says. If its all about money for the schools, then its all about entertainment for me. I have a God-given American right to be selfish, just like they do.

I agree. But, I do think this particular year is a little different. That Michigan/OSU game ended the season, so things were pretty much settled at that point. 'Bama still had time after they lost, and to their good luck, everyone that needed to lose for them to move back up did.

What's crazy is the sort of football-industrial complex that's sprung up around this system. It's why I've never been absolutely convinced of how into football-related income the college presidents really are. The Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and Orange Bowl (those are the ones I know for sure) are operated by not-for-profit 501©(3) organizations. All of them have received public funds in the last five years. All of them hold assets valued between $25 and $35 million, much of which is in government bonds. Many of the bowl committee members live very expensive lives thanks to the position they hold. If schools REALLY wanted to get their hands on the money football could provide them, they'd cut out the bowl executives that are making a fortune at their expense.

They would have to do so impressively, imo. I think people keep forgetting that OU is now a two loss team. I cannot get the Ok. State game against Iowa State out of my head and justify that is more worthy that losing by 3 at home to Bama.

Yeah, but Bama is idle this week and there is no doubt Oklahoma will improve Oki State's computer numbers. We've seen idle teams get jumped before in the BCS. Like I said, a pit of the stomach, acid feeling.

I still don't see Oklahoma State getting the nod over 'Bama unless they win ENORMOUSLY over Oklahoma, which I don't see happening. Even if they were to win by a lot, their loss to Iowa State is going to leave a bad stain, as Oklahoma's loss to Texas Tech did.

I think Oklahoma will win the game anyway. We'll see.

Alabama ranked 2 across the board. OKST ranked 5th in coaches and 5th in harris, 3rd in computer average. Alabama leads OKST in 4 of the 6 computer rankings. Oklahoma State would have to take the lead in those computer rankings which isn't out of the realm of possibility. Had they already been 3rd in the human polls I would say its nearly a shoe in for them to jump from 3 to 2 in the BCS with a win Saturday. But since they are 5th in the human polls its going to be very difficult nearly impossible unless the voters want them their. But then again the computers do favor them.
