He meant the same thing I did, a bid to a BCS game. And the SEC can only have two bids to those BCS games. The only way they get three is if two non conference champions end up 1/2 in the BCS standings. That would be very unlikely if GA wins the SEC title game.

What if Arkansas beats LSU and then UGA beats Arkansas (who would jump Bama I would guess in the BCS & move to the SEC Title Game)? Does UGA get in the BCS Championship as a 2 loss SEC champion?

UK, here is a question about Georgia getting in.

If Arkansas were to beat LSU & then Georgia, then they would automatically have to get to the title game simply because they would be the SEC champs. That would likely leave LSU & Alabama, and of those two, LSU gets the nod for me.

Randy, there is no Automatic bid to the National Championship game, no conference has a tie in to it. If the SEC did, what would the other conference say? How fair would that be? PAC12 Big 12 ACC Big 10 Big East.

 

If the Hogs beat LSU the BCS ranking come into play you have a three way tie. The team with the highest ranking plays Georgia, so the Hogs would have to leap over Bama who beat the Hogs by 24 points. So there is no way the Hogs are in the SEC game, they lost to Bama. They have discussed this all day.

Lets do an update. Experts are saying if LSU loses to Georgia and its a bad loss LSU will play Bama on January 9th. Oklahoma State in 5th in both of the human polls and a win over the Sooners they can't bump Va. Tech/Stanford. Stanford is done and Va T is the only team that could jump Bama but they have a horrible SOS.

 

There are some huge games this week. I'd like to see Georgia to win so they could play in the BCS Sugar Bowl and this is a huge fact. LSU is already in the BCSNCG. Georgia loses and it might be Michigan/Houston. Coach Saban at his pressor asked the media.."who would you put against LSU? Thet are a great team, but so are we."

 

I like the fact since we got beat bad by Utah we have changed our bowl game practices and look at Texas/Michigan State our last two bowl games.

 

Our BCS rating has gone from .0941 to .9551 the 3rd team was at .8985 LSU is at .1000

^Interesting. Saw ESPN guys saying OKState has closed the gap in the past week, and a convincing win over Oklahoma could potentially make the human voters want to see a different matchup than the rematch and bump them high enough to jump Bama.

OSU is 5th in the Harris poll and the Coaches,Thats half of the formula the BCS uses. They gonna jump from 5th to 3rd in two polls, that guy needs to research some more.

 

How about if Georgia loses and Michigan in the Sugar?

^Why because he doesn't agree with you? :lol: Stanford is done, so yeah they could easily jump them. VaTech very easily could lose again to Clemson, so they'd jump them. Now they're 3rd. Then it simply becomes a matter of whether the voters want to vote for a rematch, or vote for a game we haven't already seen. Why do you think Saban came out and said he hopes the voters vote for the two best teams? He did it because there's always been an opinion that the human voters can sway the BCS by voting against rematches. That's how Florida, not Michigan, played Ohio State a couple years back. If the voters decide, regardless of who the feel are the best teams, they don't want to see a rematch they can easily make it happen.

Also, Georgia is going to lose, I'm not worried about them winning.

I would have a hard time justifying anything other than LSU/Alabama at this point.
