July 31, 201115 yr Your top line is exactly what people were saying last year too about them. Yet they still kept finding ways to lose games instead of winning them, a lot like the Bengals. These expectations have been there for them for the last two years, and they kept failing. They very well could finally get over that hump, because no doubt they have the talent. However they have been a lot like the Bengals and had teams who could do well, but instead ended up around a .500 team. The Bengals actually had at least some success to go with it. This year the Texans definitely look like they should be better, however the Texans have shown they know how to lose games more than they know how to win. Which as we know is a bad thing for an organization. They do have the talent though, so maybe they do put it together this year. However no reason to act like that organization has been better, when it had not been. Houston is an expansion franchise that's not even 10 years old and you're comparing them to a 40+ year old franchise, that's been the laughing stock of the NFL for the last 20????
August 1, 201115 yr Yes I know this. The Bengals made the playoffs in 2009, but needed help at WR and they addressed that and where did that get them? The Texans have been a team for the last two years that was suppose to be ready to get over the hump and get into the playoffs. For the last two years, they have underachieved and choked it away. The Bengals during that time have actually made the playoffs, and then had their bad year last year with the toughest schedule in the NFL. So lets not act like the Texans are so much better, they have been like the Bengals actually but without any success. So this is now the first time the Texans are suppose to be good, they were suppose to be good the last 2 years but they find ways to lose games instead (sound familiar). I mean they very well could finally figure it out this year and get over the hump. However they have very much been like the Bengals lately, but without as much success. Do you not understand what we are trying to tell you here? If you can't stop the ball on defense, ie. you give up mass chunks of yardage via the pass your offense is not on the field very much. Stop the pass and your offense gets the ball more, period!!!

If you can't stop the ball on defense, ie. you give up mass chunks of yardage via the pass your offense is not on the field very much. Stop the pass and your offense gets the ball more, period!!! I hear you, but apparently your not hearing me. This is the same talk that they have had for the past two year, the past two years they were suppose to have things fixed and get over the hump and yet they still couldn't. This is not the first time, each year it is something well if they fix this they will get over the hump. Yet each year they have not just like the Bengals. I mean the Bengals proved that last year too, they made the playoffs in 2009. Everyone agreed they needed to improve the receiving core to make a run in the playoffs, but that definitely didn't happen. I agree Houston did a great job going out and trying to fix this problem now. However as I said for the last two years people thought they addressed their needs and were ready to get over the hump, and yet they still found ways to not get it done. They in their short time in the NFL has been a lot like the Bengals and finding ways to lose games instead of going out and winning them.
August 1, 201115 yr Houston is an expansion franchise that's not even 10 years old and you're comparing them to a 40+ year old franchise, that's been the laughing stock of the NFL for the last 20???? I am comparing them to the Bengals since Houston team has been in existence. What does 40 years have to do with now? Since Houston has been in the NFL, the Bengals franchise has done better with more success. It is not like Houston is a bad expansion team anymore with no talent. They are a team who has been one of the most talented teams in the league for the last couple of years and just like the Bengals they have found ways to lose instead of win. Each year for the last two years, was suppose to be the year they were to get over the hump and they haven't. It's not like this is the first year they addressed a need, they have the last two years and it still has not matter. That is my point, lets not act like Joseph went to the great franchise. He went to a franchise that has been very similar to us and having talent and finding ways to lose. If this same Houston team was in Cincy, fans would have been tearing that team up for how they kept falling short of making the playoffs. I am not saying Houston won't finally get over the hump this year. However they have yet to do it for the last two years, when people were saying the samething about them. And for the last two years, it becomes something else well if they fix this they will. Then yet again they fail too. Maybe this year they finally will though. The Biggest difference between them and the Bengals right now is only at QB. They have a QB who has had some success, while the QB now in Cincy is a big question mark.
August 1, 201115 yr Obviously, I like what Philly has done adding some nice pieces to a team that gave the Super Bowl champions its toughest game during last year's playoffs. Asomugha is overshadowing everything, but the Eagles would be the most impressive team this off-season even without signing him, IMO. They've added Cullen Jenkins, Jason Babin, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. I like New England's low-risk and potentially high-reward pickups of Chad and Fat Albert. The Texans got a very good corner in Joseph, who was under the radar a bit with all the talk of Asomugha. I think the Chargers and Saints have also made some nice moves/decisions. I like the Hasselbeck signing for Tennessee. Now they just have to get CJ done.
August 1, 201115 yr I missed how all of this Houston talk got started. Bottom line is Houston is a better team and franchise than Cincinnati. JJ knows this

Substitute the name Cincinnati for Houston here, and you've given a pretty good synopsis of Mike Brown's 20+ years of management here!!
August 2, 201115 yr Take out the QB crap, and I could not be happier about the work the Seattle staff is doing this offseason.
August 2, 201115 yr Bengals are picking up good players they just got Manny Lawson. They are still looking at players on the O-Line, Safety, Corner, and Line Backer.
August 3, 201115 yr Ronnie Brown to the Eagles was another great offseason move for them.Yes it was a great pickup that will be overlooked.
August 4, 201115 yr I can't believe the Giants got Ahmad Bradshaw back at 4 years $18 million. Considering what DeAngelo Williams got, that's a deal for the G-Men.
