What type of athlete his he? Someone told me that they had moved to Ft. Mitchel is that true, and if so is he going to play for Beechwood or Highlands?

No attempt here to start anything. It was an honest question. I had heard his family moved to Ft. Mitchell, so I ask. I wouldn't care where he lives, I think kids should be able to attend wherever they feel suits them best.

I think next year’s freshman team will be a big challenge for the coaches as there is no true “leader/leaders” within these group of kids. Talent is marginable at best with no standout players. From my knowledge most of the talented kids played in the FTJFL this year and if you watched any of the games this year you would all agree there wasn’t much to watch.

Lastly, I would encourage you to think about what you are posting about a bunch of kids who aren't even a team yet. Many of the kids who will be on this freshman team read this site, and it can be pretty disheartening to read about what a mediocre team you are going to be part of.

Well then may I suggest the incoming Frosh parent party in Death Valley. They will have a keg of everyones favorite "Blue Koolaid" for those that ask waaaaaaaaaaaay too many questions and have too many concerns. Besides Mediocre teams or as you stated "Marginal" talent wins State Championships in KY. You just have to roll with it and trust it. LOL.

Better hope your son's friends don't find out who you are; he'll be real popular. Not. Better learn a simple rule fast: some opinions and thoughts are best not shared publicly and what you do say on here can have a really negative influence on kids.

:DLast mediocre class ended well. Plenty of stars class above, players strong in next two classes below. Coaching is always there, in the end I am sure they will have plenty of success

Anyone have any information and/or thoughts about the Birds frosh football team in 2011? Will they be able to keep the streak alive as far as winning the large school championship in Northern Kentucky? Who are some of the players to watch for next year. Are there any kids to look out for that have not participated in the Ft. Thomas Junior Football League?

I can see healthy competition for RB, WR, OLB, and DB positions. There are a lot of athletic kids that will be vying for playing time.

We are talking 8th graders that have yet to see the weight room, and have yet to meet with a Freshman coach. Why in the world would there be any discussion as to "who the leaders are going to be and how they are going to preform their freshman year. This has to be one of the most out there threads yet. Late August maybe. Give it a break guys.

 

I know the season is over and you are having your football withdrawals. To all you soon to be freshman dads, don't rush it. Before you know it it will be their senior season and hopefully you will be standing on the field at Western Kentucky University hugging your son on the first Saturday in December.

I think there will be an Abner in the group of freshman. He has nice hands, runs well and is pretty tall.
