Highlands Frosh Football 2011

Featured Replies

We are talking 8th graders that have yet to see the weight room, and have yet to meet with a Freshman coach. Why in the world would there be any discussion as to "who the leaders are going to be and how they are going to preform their freshman year. This has to be one of the most out there threads yet. Late August maybe. Give it a break guys.

I know the season is over and you are having your football withdrawals. To all you soon to be freshman dads, don't rush it. Before you know it it will be their senior season and hopefully you will be standing on the field at Western Kentucky University hugging your son on the first Saturday in December.

Nicely done Henry! I have been told by many to enjoy the ride as I have two in training and I want to enjoy the time as it's moves way to fast.

LOL!!! Welcome to the site "My Friend"!!!

Wait, I just noticed you joined in Sept. Well then, nice way to start off with a bang!

I must say it's comforting to know that there will always be a new punching bag to come along with each new season.:D

I think there will be an Abner in the group of freshman. He has nice hands, runs well and is pretty tall.

How many generations is that for the Abners ? Great family , and glad to see them carrying on the tradition !! Also , I would like to wish Austin good luck on his way to college !!

Nice to see a real response to the topic. I was beginning to think that next year's freshman team was to be made up of nameless, or possibly invisible, players. I hope people don't try to compare them to this years freshman team. That is going to be a tough act to follow. Hopefully they will provide at least 10 to 12 good players to blend in with the classes around them. Who are some more of the incoming freshmen? I am sure they will be just fine.

Okay.....

There will be 2 Abner's on the Frosh team next year....

Andrew(The Cowboy)Abner. One of the better open field tacklers I have witnessed at that level....Of course I'm a little biased!!!:D

Johnny(Biiiiiiiig Country)Abner. As soon as he gets in the weight room....Look out!!!!:scared: Someone told me that he could possibly go around 6' 5"....

I'm a little excited for the next 4 years of HHS football!:dancingpa

Todd Ramey, Beau Hoge, Griffin Urlige, Jacob Noe, Josh Watson, Justin Weyer, Brad Velle, Brady Murray, Roco Pangallo, Bo Hebel (8th Grader) these are just a few I can think of..

The passion demonstrated in this thread for the future 9th grade team at Highlands is not shown for some team's varsity squads!!!!!!!!

How do they say it "WE ARE HIGHLANDS". Iam sure people will call that "over the top", "full of yourselves" "etc, etc. But this is exactly why Highlands is Highlands.

As stated in post 36 some nice players just waiting for their chance. Until the, like others have said these are Baby Birds and lets make sure they can fly first before some put them in combat.

They will be just fine. Go Birds.

Is Bo Hebel the son of Gene Hebel?

Hey sweep , are you missing anything from the fort ? Last night I was woke up from a deep sleep. So I got my shotgun because I thought somebody was breaking in my house. Well , it turned out to be a record book buck trashing the wife's bird feeder hanging from the gutter . This giant 8 pointer was 2 feet from my sliding glass door on my patio . This is the same deer that I saw one day before gun season and two days after gun season. Who says deer don't have calenders.

Now back to the thread . Birds Freshman will be fine !

Better be careful or Sweep, Whackem and Family T might have to do a road trip. LOL.

I watched Rocco Pangallo and Daniel Kremer play in the SR Division Super Bowl for Bellevue vs South Kenton and they stood out as very fine players. Kremer has potential to build on his frame and Pangallo has some moxy.

I want to add Patrick Schoepf to the list of very fine players.

After being restricted this year with weight regulations on running the ball, he was able to showcase his ability to run people over and outrun the secondary to the endzone while playing in the FTJFL 8th grade showcase game. Pat will also be a dandy of a linebacker!!!

Is Bo Hebel the son of Gene Hebel?

Not sure but Bo Hebel is a freak of nature for a current 7th grader. Part of me doesn't want the kid to play up next year,(really not sure if he is considering it) but part of me thinks it might be for the better of the FTJFL. The kid was probably the strongest kid in the FTJFL this past year in the league...Period!!!

He played this past year at around 230lbs...
