first its the naked cowboy and the only thing thats big on an abner is jimmys head

ill tell ya what!!! i think you meant timmys head. its getting late, right now lets go, get in bed bud, awe yeah.. btw,i cant believe you are still idiolizing jimmy abner. a true legend.........

you got any sons playing football out there in boone county?

This Highlands team will be fast, real fast. They might even get mad, real mad. Could be very similar to the 20n10 squad in 3 yrs. As some have stated and I too have noted, this past Frosh team could be THE TEAM, we will see. This leaves this Frosh team following the footsteps of a superstar team much like the 20n10 team. Common goal, Win State. Highlands has a lot of really good problems coming up, like Which team will be the Greatest of all time. LOL........

you know there is only one just ask ernie and no i dont all girls just a little joke for the people that know the abners and idolize them like i do but you have the wrong brother

Latest word is that there are currently 51 Baby Birds.

That is the number my son told me this morning, 51 Baby Birds!

That is quite a lot for one class. This would mean that just about every boy that played in the FTJFL last year is planning on playing this year which is great. I would assume that this figure does not include those that may be coming from other schools in the fall which means that number could approach 60.

That would top last years freshman team, at least numbers wise. Very good turnout.

That old saying, nothing succeeds likes success, comes to mind here.

I did see some "new" faces at the meeting. So we will have that 98% home grown working for us next season. Thought I would just settle that right now before our friends, "the haters" jump on and start the bashing of the"home grown" debate.

I used the term "homegrown " a while back , and I'm still pulling the tar and feathers off of me.

After reading the previous posts and doing the math , does nine transfers seem like an extremely large number for the freshman team ? I was thinking maybe one or two at the most is the norm. :idunno:

FTJFL rosters had 53 - 8th grade boys last fall. There were 2 boys on the Blue team from other schools and 1 from Gold that will not be attending HHS. There are 5 boys at HMS that played last fall that will not be playing freshmen. That leaves us with 45.

Add in the 2 Ft Thomas boys that played for the Bellevue Tigers and 1 Ft Thomas boy that played for the Newport Firefighters and Hebel (7th grader) playing up -- 49. Pretty close to the 51 that is being reported by those in the know.

I heard that there is some big boy that is coming to Highlands from Calvary Christian (6'2" 250 lbs.) Do not know what position he plays, but that is one big kid.

Heard they needed a kicker and had to go find the next Cody Rosenhagen(sp)
