I believe the only ones on the sidelines are the Ryle dads. Nothing wrong with that. I think it's a great tradition.

I'll be on the sidelines as well for this one.

Not really. Dads are fine, but I've noticed quite a few additional bodies on the sidelines these days. Game against Campbell there were 4 or 5 small kids playing football on Ryle's sideline. Frankly, I do think they need to cut down on the extra people on the sidelines a bit.

For the safety of all the players, no one should be on the sidelines except those who are part of the game. I am suprised with all the details that the KHSAA legislates over that this is not one of them.

Also, I guess Trinity should be practicing with loud music playing over the p.a. system.

Your grammar still amazes me. Don't you have SK Bball to talk about or something?

Good Lord, I hope you're talking about basketball and not baseball. Heaven forbid he starts posting in the baseball forum. :ohbrother:

^ I don't even care.....SK is done, we'll worry about them next year (or not ever). In regards to this game, my nerves get elevated with each week we go further. Ryle is an excellent ball club that will likely find much to learn from this past Trinity/X game. For example. The best defense for our offense, is for it to be off the field. I would imagine that Ryle, will take the ball, if they win the toss. If they can muster an excellent opening drive like the Xaverians did, confidence will be at a premium.

I personally don't think Ryle can trade punch for punch with us, offensively. But, if they play mistake free ball, and we make a few sophomorish type errors, it could be upset city.

It'll be interesting to see who Ryle matches up on Quick. I agree that Ryle's biggest challenge will be the secondary containing the passing game, but they've been playing very well lately agaisnt some solid passing teams (Campbell, SK) so I think they're as ready as they can be.

I agree that they've played well vs Campbell (no run game) and SK (QB is the running game) but Trinity brings what both of those teams did (QB with 2,500 yards) but they also have two backs that combined for over 2,000 yards. The Raiders have a very good squad, and if things go right they have a chance but they also have a very small margin for error. If they can get a lead they have the ability to work the clock and they did just that in the HHS and SK game, the question remains if they fall behind by a score or two, how will that affect them. Hempel was great last night, very efficient with the pass but nothing down field. I don't think that's going to cut it this Friday night.

Let's say the teams had played each others schedule.... what would the records be?

Wouldn't happen, because Trinity and Highlands would never play twice in the regular season. As a matter of fact these two Titans never play except in scrimmage games.......a shame IMO.

Ryle would be 7-6 with an early season loss at Lawrence North as Ryle wasn't playing very well to start the season...Ryle would then lose to Elder, Cincy St. X, Bowling Green, St. X and then they would have lost last week to St. X in the playoffs to end their season...On the other hand Trinity would be Undefeated IMO with their toughest games against Highlands...

Does Ryle really have a chance against Trinity? I think not! Ryle lost to St. X last year in the second round of the playoffs 66 -17.

Travis Elliott rushed 14 times for 39 yards and Connor Hempel's passing numbers were 12 - 23 for 156 yards with 3 interceptions.

Ryle is making a huge jump in competition against Trinity. My prediction is Trinity 49 - Ryle 21.

I think that Trinity wins this one. I would like to see Ryle win though I don think that if they can control the ball with both the run and pass they can win the ballgame. With them playing at home is a big plus. Does Ryle have a turf field?

Where will the officiating crew be from (if anyone knows yet)? Thanks in advance.

Looks like their are some " believers " from the looks of the poll at the beginning of this thread .

I disagree.

Game with Lawrence North would've been a toss up IMO. They would've lost to Elder and Cincy X but beat Bowling Green. Bowling Green would've had no answer for Ryle's run game. I also think they beat St. X. St. X simply isn't what they've been the past few years. Ryle also has a more balanced offense. You're seriously underestimating the Raiders. They're a very good team.

As far as Trinity being undefeated, who knows. They would've had to face Highlands twice and I like the Birds chances at winning one of those two. Especially with Drake Bruns on Quick. He didn't play in the scrimmage.

I think everyone knows that Trinity is the heavy favorite in this one.

A lot of the votes, like mine, are simply supporting the nky team and hoping for the upset. There are a lot of rivalries in nky, but one thing's for sure...everyone sticks together when it comes to a nky team against down state competition.

See the support for Holmes during their 2009 state championship run.
