It's Pulice and trust me Ryle has many young men just waiting to get their chance

Ryle will be more than a one trick pony next year. You obviously don't know much about their program.

 

Their sophomore class is LOADED with talent and the frosh group from this year is pretty darn good as well.

 

Walter, could you please elaborate on this comment? I noticed you capped the word loaded. What do you mean by this? IMO, this program goes to being very mediocre once Hempel and Elliot depart. I am wondering who their QB will be next year, and I believe they will losing lots of senior leadership off of this years team. I would venture to say that Elliot's rushing yardage will be lower next year vs. this year. I have seen Ryle's younger players and have not seen anybody that could duplicate what Hempel and Elliot have done. Hempel has been a three year starter and I believe Elliot started or got significant time as a freshman. Is there anyone on Ryle's radar that will be a three or four year starter at QB or RB?

I am not saying Ryle is going to win it all this year, because I don't believe they will, but the Raiders days of being so-so are over. Coach Warner took the proper approach by playing Highlands and learning from the experieinces. IMHO Ryle becomes the next Northern Kentucky team to consistenly go deep in the playoffs-joining Highlands, NCC and Beechwood.

 

Coach Warner and his staff deserve much credit for building the program, scheduling up, learning and moving on. Could be a template for other schools wanting to go for state crowns.

It's going to take a lot more development at the younger levels to compete with Trinity and X every year, which they have the potential to do-IF THEY DEVELOP THE KIDS instead of having most of them standing on the sidelines at young ages and then decide football is not for them.

Not doubting what you are saying Wildcat as I am not familiar with the younger age groups. I am simply speaking to that which Coach Warner has control over and that is his team.

It will depend on if they MANDATE playing time for the younger kids; if they keep all the kids having fun and keep the best ones from getting burnt out, they will be on their way!!! If they let a group of overzealous dads play only 13-15 kids so their sons can be the stars and they can win the "championship" every year, NOTHING will change.

To be honest I don't see Ryle being that good over the next few years. Their frosh team didn't have a lot of numbers and weren't very good. The JV isn't that good either. The varsity has 9 seniors starting on offense. Not sure about their defense, but I just don't see it..Maybe I'm wrong but this is Ryle's big year for a while..

Ryle was hit hard by the injury bug at all levels and they really did not look good at the JV and frosh levels, especially against HHS (and Cov at frosh level only). It will take a great amount of commitment and hard work by the players and coaches over the off-season. Time will tell. This year's team must keep working hard and remain focused.

Ryle has a chance to be really good, will the middle school get them over the hump? You can be the judge of that. At the end of the day it comes down to personnel. If Ryle makes it to state this year it will be the 2nd time in 5 years right? All this being done without a middle school team and just sending players through the BCPWFL. Boone also made it to the final 4, 5 or so years ago. The talent in Boone County is as good as anywhere in the state, it's just spread out and spread even more thin with Cooper opening.
