  4. All I'm going to say is don't ever say NEVER gets you into trouble everytime. Football players are not suppose to act that way, and to put all football players in this category is like saying football players are dumb jocks, which we know is not true. This kid was wrong in what he did and should accept the consequences whatever Joker deems them to be.
  5. This comment just reflects the attitude of most kids in our society today - they do not have respect for any kind of authority. uk#1 fan if you are a parent I pray that your children do not attend the school I teach in as obviously you think this behavior is acceptable. I know it was spring break but this behavior should not be condoned and the fact that ok he was drunk doesn't give him a free ride to be so disrespectful. He is just lucky the officer didn't hit his head or worse.
  6. Once again congrats to my alma mater for winning the 9th region! They looked sluggish Friday night glad to hear they played well today.
  7. Personally, don't think Ammons will be moved to WR as he was an Honorable mention All-American this year and the Tigers averaged close to 40 points a game with Kaelin at the helm. The Tigers also return roughly 17 starters from last year's team and will be a legitimate contender for the National Title as long as the team stays healthly. Glad to see Pawsat as a Tiger, he will have a year to learn the system from an outstanding upperclassman and fine young man.
  8. Well said! My son had a great experience in the league and had wonderful coaches. I am not against the BCPWFL in anyway I just feel that it makes sense that by the time these players reach the 7th & 8th grades they already know where they are going to HS and it would be in their best interest and the interest of their school for these players to be indoctrinated into the system of their respective schools. Look at the sucess that Highlands has on the freshman level year in and year out. Their coaches don't have to teach them their system because they have been running it their whole careers. They concentrate on the finer points and special teams and they are two steps ahead of every program in Northern Kentucky. Almost every year their freshman team is the best in NK. They don't have to waste time teaching a system they concentrate on refining their players and techniques. Yes, it is going to take more than a feeder program but it is the first and most important step.
  9. If you are replying to my post - yes the team played every week in the BCPWFL. Roman Empire I agree that there are very good coaches in the league but you also have to agree there are coaches as well who only use the league for their own ego. The coach you are referring to is one of the better coaches in the league and my son was lucky enough to play for him on an all-star team and loved the experience. We respect this coach very much.
  10. At the end of next Saturday, Trinity and Highlands will each add another state title to their already impressive totals.
  11. When the BCPWFL was started it was a feeder program for THE high school - Boone County as it was the only school in the county. Then came Conner, Ryle, Walton Verona and now Cooper. Also, it can not truly be called BCPWFL because in the past there have been several players that have come from other counties that the boys were too big to play in the Northern Ky Pee Wee League and coaches used them to stack their own teams. When my son played one Senior team consisted almost entirely of boys that were definitely heading for Beechwood. Coaches have brought in players from Erlanger and Covington that could have played in their own leagues. I applaud Ryle and Coach Warner for what they are attempting to do and I think it would be in the best interest of the other schools in the county to develop their own feeder programs in order for them to compete with the most successful programs in their respective classes. Most of the schools in Campbell County and Kenton County in recent years have started their own feeder system or Middle School Teams. The NKPWFL senior division is very depleted as a result. Times have changed and in order to compete in the future the schools that wish to remain competitive have understood the importance of starting their own feeder programs. It was just a matter of time before it happened in Boone County. Coach Warner has had this vision since he took over the Ryle Program. And Roman Empire before you go off on me, I am not one of those whose son didn't get to play much in the BCPWFL. My son came up through the BCPWFL system and was one of the better players in the league making All-Star every year he played and being a member of two super bowl championship teams.
  12. Stands true in the Enquirer as well - ND loss = big write up - ND win = nothing (I know the game ended late but believe me if they had lost it would have been in the paper.
  13. Best route is Mt. Zion Rd exit - turn left and go to US 42 - it will be the 3rd stop light - turn left and Ryle is on the right. Plenty of parking but you may have to walk a bit - go to second entrance for easy access to parking.
  14. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the game but if someone would have done that they would unfortunately left themselves open to a lawsuit in this day & age.
  15. Yes, it was taken care of the same day the parent called the principal - she saw the sweatshirt on a football player at another sporting event and called the principal the next day - he immediately sent out the message and that was that. If don't think I know what I am talking about you can PM me. SK administration should have taken care of this and the student behavior - this is not the first time SK students and parents have acted this way. I know quite a few people from Independence and it's a shame that this behavior cast a bad light on all of SK.
  16. I really don't think that Ryle's administration is responsible for dealing with classless t-shirts (SK administration should have dealt with their students) - I can tell you last year the Ryle football team used the saying it is better to sweat in practice then bleed in combat and a parent complained that it was disrepectful to the military so said spirit wear was not longer allowed to be worn at games or school.
  17. It's Pulice and trust me Ryle has many young men just waiting to get their chance
  18. Hammer3 - I do not have a son playing at Ryle right now, my son did play there for Bryson for 4 years. The Simon Kenton/Ryle games have always been intense with players talking junk both on the field and off the field. When my son was playing some of the things that came out of Simon Kenton players mouths couldn't even be repeated. Boys will be boys and whether you agree or not please don't come on this forum and bash a player no matter what team he comes from. Please act like an adult.
  19. Haven't you learned anything? Size doesn't matter! I go with Ryle in this one -
  20. Accurate assessment of the game - thanks for having the class that some people seem to lack these days -
  21. What needs to be done to the field is not maintenance. There are problems that the company should fix but are refusing to come down to do them. I know the other 3 Boone Co. schools are bitter that Ryle was able to raise the money for a new field. I know for a fact that Boone Co. HS met with the members of the Ryle fundraising committee but weren't committed enough to follow through.
