  1. Let me say that I am not sure where the funds to fix the field are coming from but I do know that Boone County School Board has to approve any type of repairs/building etc. Eventhough the field was built using private funds the board had to approve the project and the company that was building it.
  2. Then an exemption was made because two years ago the football team had their banquet on a Sunday at the school in the commons
  3. This statement just confirms my thoughts that you really have no clue! If Sage is the next Miles and your WR's are going to be very busy this year - why would you need/want Travis and why would he even consider it?
  4. All I know is that it was put in place last year - it wasn't the AD's that went to the school board but the principals
  5. Cooperstown - for one the AD at Ryle knows why there is this policy - the administrators do not want to have to be present at the schools/events on Sunday. They went to the school board and got the policy changed. They use to allow for activities after 1:00 but no more.
  6. Nice facilities doesn't equate to strong football teams! I am really getting tired of ukfan36 bashing Ryle - get a life - we all know the SK connection with Elliott - he isn't going anywhere!
  7. Sage Powell is a good runner but come on not the caliber of Miles! Agreed that it is not fair to Sage to make the comparisons. Simon will have a good year just don't think they are anywhere near Highlands or Ryle - in the end we can talk all we want but games are won on the field - can't wait for the season to start!
  8. Still have to play St. Henry! Don't look past them. Great game Lady Raiders.
  9. Heard if ND knocks he would listen - Blue&Gold.com has him listed as a recruit
  10. I think Ryle is hosting the boys soccer regionals
  11. Coach Rudd's father is the head freshman coach at Ryle and his younger brother plays at Cooper. Prayers go out to the family, Dixie, Ryle & Cooper football families. He will surely be missed.
  12. No, Owen is named after Amanda's father who was like a father to Bryson. Heard tell that little Owen already looks like a linebacker and will be dressed in orange & black come Thursday night!:dancingpa
  13. The gate money at Ryle doesn't go to the football team or to fix things at the stadium - it is spread out over all sports - I agree that the sound system is terrible and with the facilities this should be taken care of but has always been and unfortunately I don't think it is the #1 priority for Mr. Demler and would probably have to come from a private donation.
  14. For the most part Ryle did not stop the run - Dixie ran the ball very well last night. Dixie actually stopped themselves on several drives committing untimely turnovers. You have to give Ryle's defense some credit for causing these, particulary an interception in the first half near their own 10 yard line, however, eliminate these turnovers and the score would have been much closer. Ryle clearly was the better team tonight but the lopsided early score was a little misleading. Offensively Ryle looked outstanding and teams are not going to be able to stack the box as Hempel will kill them with the pass.
  15. Ryle football has retired two numbers - I know one was retired because the player died in an accident right after his jurnior year in football not sure about the other one. The basketball team retired Justin Dollman's jersey # and I think they have retired Kirsten Allen's # in softball. She holds a lot of state records, was Ms. Softball - Gatorade Player of the year - and is currently playing at Oklahoma.
  16. No, it is only for seniors and is usually played the first week of June but with extension of school it may not take place until later. I think each school gets to select 4 or 5 seniors, but don't quote me on that.
  17. Benke was very inconsistent and at times had trouble reading the defense. I also think Bryson realizes that they need a balance offense to compete and has done well getting Conner the ooaching he needs to be the QB for the next 2 years.
  18. Cooperstown I totally agree with your assessment - obviously someone has an ax to grind. Ryle is becoming more of a balanced offense and that is what they need to compete in 6A.
  19. The freshman at Ryle you are speaking about does not play on the Freshman team. He did play some JV in the beginning of the year, but I don't think he plays JV now.
  20. I am going to date myself here - I have been a resident of BC for 25 years and didn't grow up here - I chose to move here when after I was married for a couple years! I didn't say the developers asked the BOE if they could build - when I moved here there were 600 residents in the city of Union - when a developer wants to start a new development they must go before the Planning commission etc. it was at one of the meetings that the committee asked for input from Blavett who made the comment that our schools can handle the development - this has gotten off topic - so I will end it now. I don't feel Cooper is ready for a varsity schedule in any of their athletic programs but I do wish them well.
  21. I realize that the BOE didn't strictly consider athletics in their decision - I also believe Ryle did not start off with a varsity schedule their first year and when Ryle opened JR's & SR's were given the option to stay at their current school. Yes, Conner is overcrowded but you can thank Blavett for telling developers a few years ago to continue building our schools can handle the students.
  22. I don't think it was the administration's decision at Cooper to go Varsity - heard it was decided at the board office - if they played a jv schedule then I think the to be juniors would have gotten to make the decision whether to stay at their current school or move. Playing a varsity schedule in all areas they were making sure that only the seniors to be had the option to stay or move.
