  1. Also, Schmitz starts both ways so he was also missed on defense for pretty much of the game.
  2. Adam was up all Thursday night very sick - - went to school Friday but had to leave class several times. Hadn't eaten since Thursday evening - you are right the offense would have looked very different had he been 100%. I agree the score would not have been as close had everyone been on all cylinders. Glad we came away with a win - everyone stepped up and nice pic by Dylan. I heard the K for NewCath got hurt in a soccer match and may be out for a few weeks. Good luck Breds down the stretch!
  3. The unsportsman like conduct fouls were by over eager underclassmen. I can assure you it will be taken care of. I won't go into detail but having a son on the team if you feel Ryle played dirty - look in your own backyard.
  4. Highlands does a great job of starting down in the Jr. Football League - but they can do that since it is a Ft. Thomas run league. Ryle, Boone nor Conner can do that because BCPWFL is a county league not a city league - and face it - the league has players that not only go to Ryle, Boone and Conner but have gone to CovCath, Dixie, Beechwood, Holy Cross, Lloyd and even NewCath. Heck, I bet we could find someone who even went on to play at Highlands.
  5. Farmer next to the field said his cows wouldn't give milk because of the cannon noise. He use to be a judge in the country soooo no more cannon.
  6. Of course you don't tell him he can't play and I'm sure the players in question were not told they couldn't play - like I said there would be consequences - possibly sitting out the first couple games. He may be your star running back, but you can't hold up practices, plays etc just because he is playing baseball. What kind of message does this send to other players - where do you draw the line? You move forward and work with what you have - you never know he may get injured playing baseball and then where are you?
  7. He would still expect him to be there for mandatory practices. There would be consequences if he wasn't there.Coach Warner encourages all his athletes to play multiple high school sports. Summer ball, Fall ball, AAU are not considered playing for your high school. Once it's football season it's football season!
  8. state stats can be found on KHSAA website
  9. Going from last year stats , the TOP returning LB's are Dixie - Benson ( 104 ) CCH - Brueggeman ( 98 ) CC - Sauerbeck ( 66 ) ! I believe Schmitz from Ryle had 141 tackles (88 solo) last year. Also, had game high 12 tackles in state final game.
  10. Murray is on a fullride to Navy for football, Gray is on an academic scholorship for Marshall, and Johnson from Lloyd is on a fullride to Eastern
  11. When Patterson signs for 4 years at a college is he going to stay the 4 years or leave after one or two?
  12. Is this thread for Ryle football or BCPWFL?
  13. There are approximately 1600 maybe a little more students
  14. His knee was hurt and they wanted to rest him for state
  15. In response to Rock Pride, Ryle HAD 2 great running backs. In the 1st Dixie game ,Morgan was hurt & Gray moved to WR. Murray had a great game. In the 2nd Dixie game the roles remained the same. Murray had a great game. Gray had food poisoning-played only on defense. Meade Cty- Murray still at TB-Gray at WR. Murray had a great game- Gray, also. Against Henderson Co., Murray is now the TB, Gray at WR. Murray-another huge game, also Gray, some on def. At State, it was Boone County revisited. Unfortunately, against a stronger opponent, we needed Murray & Gray. They needed to be in the backfield together. Our offensive staff had other ideas (Boone County-one back-one ball) & we paid the price. I talked to several players & our half-time adjustments were a joke - how do we adjust our blocking schemes on "slam". Few offensive coaches even talked to the players. Our only success in the 2nd half was when we went back to our original offense- Murray & Gray together. "Buck", "Slam", "Guts",-one back, Power I, what year is this 19..? This is 2006. We didn't adjust & we didn't use our best players effectively. It was easier to revert to what we knew. That worked against inferior teams - not Trinity. I heard a coach comment that Trinity hadn't seen a Power I formation & wouldn't be able to stop it. I said that "T" hadn't seen a Single Wing formation either but could probably stop that. Our players deserved a better effort from some of our coaches- they revisited "Boone County O "; it was easy & convenient for them- something more imaginative would have required more effort. Fortunately, our players gave a better effort. Not to make halftime adjustments when you are losing by 20+ points is a travesty.
  16. As for the comments on Ryle's "Boone County" oriented offense- it's interesting that the 3 Ryle coaches calling plays on offense were from Boone County. The "stone age" offense didn't work back then & it killed us last night. We put all of our eggs in one basket (player) & it cost us the game. Too bad for the Ryle players who deserved a better fate. Don't misunderstand me, Trinity is a great team but it would have been nice to see a more competitive game. We had the ability to make it a closer game but for some reason we chose not to use it. Congrats Trinity! Great season Raiders! Hopefully our coaches will attend some clinics in the offseason so our schemes can be updated. Leave the past where it belongs- in the past!!
  17. Randy Cooper was a great person! Obviously you didn't have the pleasure of knowing him. He loved his school, students and faculty. He had nothing to do with Nate Niemi being named Assistant Principal, Bryson has done a wonderful job with the boys and come on - obviously you're not a parent because we have no control over what our children do when they leave the nest - furthermore he has two wonderful daughters! Get a life.
