Because we're too busy laughing at the ridiculously petty nature of the suggestion. Funny that this has been an okay set-up with hundreds of teams throughout the many decades, but suddenly it's a horrible injustice. :lol:

The problem with Highlands is the little kids don't have much room to play or throw around anywhere. They don't come to the game to really watch the game.

 

The people who would be responsible for making any changes simply don't think it's a problem. If it is that bad or dangerous simply don't schedule Highlands. If Ryle would have won this game this would be a mute point.

I was trying to make some 'nice' suggestions earlier, but sometimes a sledgehammer to the side of the head is more effective. None of the issues have affected the outcome of any of the games, and Ryle has been defeated fair and square by a better executing team. That being said, the field turf being bragged about is obsolete and no better that the rug I played on at Oklahoma, Iowa or Nebraska in the late 70s. If it was install 8 years ago then I am sorry but it is 70s technology sold in 2000. Opposing players should be strongly encouraged to wear shoes specifically designed for this type of 'sticky' turf, and frankly I'm not sure all opposing players coming to play understand the difference between the Dixie, SK or Ryle artificial turf they are going to play on. I will tell you the new field being installed in Cincinnati are all similar to the Dixie/Ryle stuff. The guard rail issue is now federal law and any inspector could easily determine that the back rail does not meet federal code. When someone falls off, you'll find out all about it. Schools are responsible for retrofitting to meet the code. (This would be an easy fix.) As for the sideline issues and little kids being run over, that can all be handled by a little crowd control as suggested above. HHS, you have a great team and tradition (and I'm envious), but things can always be improved!

Why be so offended at the constructive criticism? No one has taken any cheap shots at your team or the football staff and certainly no one has claimed it caused Ryle or anyone else to lose a game there. It was simply brought up that there is a problem with the lack of room on the visitor's sideline, certainly from the standpoint of the visitor and especially when you're assesed sideline warning infractions for standing on the field due to the lack of room. And that this problem has also been mentioned on occasion by HHS supporters. You're being rather insincere if you claim that this has never been brought up in the past by any other team and a tad thin-skinned if you think HHS is above any type of constructive criticism or suggestion to improve their overall facility or game conditions - on a site that encourages such discussions, no less. No need to respond - I'm sure you're right on target when you imply we're all just jealous, petty "HHS-haters" grasping for a reason to explain away our losses to your team.

Look at what everyone is argueing over. It's been the same for years and isnt going to change so it doesn't matter.

Did I miss the post that said a sideline infraction was called? I would be bothered by that if I were the coach on that sideline. Unless the coach was in the way of th eplay I think the prudent thing to do would be to cut the coach some slack.

The sidelines were to close to the vistors bench area. The fields not big enough to pass each other and they ran into each other. That sounds about right.
