I hear you about the young kids. It's a football stadium, not a blooming playground. If parents aren't going to control their kids at the game, hire a baby sitter and leave them at home.

 

PS: we made our sons sit next to us in the bleachers when they were young. They didn't like it, but being a parent is not a popularity test.

Agreed LN. I too was a little shocked at the lack of security that is in place to protect the spectators and the players. It was a full blown "big time wrestling event" from perch on the ramp. I am not too sure Dale could not have been flagged for the kids on the field. Just ask Dixie about that situation in their Win/Lost over CovCath last yr involving the camera man. If that would have happened last nite, it certainly would have not gone over very well with Dale. Whether these folks are Volunteers or Paid Staff, I would like for them to get a handle on the situation before something bad happens. Go Birds 20n10

He's developed into a very good runner and he's not easy to bring down either. I'll bet he rushes for as many yards as any other QB in NKY this year.

 

Ryle's passing issues have zero to do with him. He rarely gets to set up in the pocket to throw and is constantly on the run (though some are obviously designed rollouts). There were quite a few drops tonight. Other than the TD toss to Lonkard, which was a very nice play, I'm not certain Ryle attempted another pass more than 8-10 yards. They have had a very successful vertical passing game the past two years and hopefully we'll see some of that back in this year's pass attack.

 

How many yards did Towles have rushing last night? I thought towards the end of the game Hemple started to be a lot more hesitant when running the ball.

Not that I saw. Any hesitation was probably simply because he was trying to find some opening somewhere/anywhere to run and there wasn't much to be had. He does not shy away at all from contact and taking on tacklers head on. In fact, I would submit that he occasionally needs to go down a little sooner, as he'll often take on 3 or more tacklers and you'd hate to see your QB get injured that way.

Towles to Gold to end the 1st half! Gall's end around for a TD! Towles to Sheehan, Fox 19 news- preps play of the day! A few glitches remain, but all is good in Bluebird country as we head into week #3.

All it takes is some rope or an adult to step in and tell the kids to move on. Do you honestly think every parenr should have their kid sitting next to them at the game? Certain areas of the field where fans are exposed when walking to the bathroom or concession should have an authority figure there to protect the fans. Its just a very tight situation at that stadium and id love to see additional bleachers built at the southeastern end.

 

On a sour note, a 4th grade FTJRFL player was walking to the concession stand on the sidelines and got wiped out by Sheehan who flew out of bounds. They really need to protect the fans in certain areas of the field. ON the side where the concessions /bathrooms are there were kids playing tackle by the goal line, I couldnt believe they allow that. Now I have a kid who likely will need stitches and not play tomorrow in the first youth game of the season.

 

After 5 hours in the car today , I came up with the perfect solution to the problem. You and about 10 of your close buddies volunteer to police the perimeter of the field. I'm sure the school would give you free passes to the games and then you wouldn't have to wait in the ticket lines any more. You could help the school and keep the kids safe. And you would have field level view of the game.:thumb:

Not sure. Initial word last night floating around was that it wasn't good, but who knows. I'll try to find out from another of the dads. Another injury for Ryle that could be a very rough loss was to #53 (Teepen), who goes both ways on the line and is really a fine player. I have no idea on his condition either, but maybe someone else does?

I would think a safer prediction will be that they will finish 5th in the district behind Ryle, Boone, Conner, and Campbell. Not saying they will, but I think that's more likely than them finishing out without another loss. It's kind of odd that you don't feel the need to eat just the tiniest slice of humble pie after what happened to your team today. You should try some - you might find you like the taste.

 

The cupboards are aparently not bare at either Boone or Conner and if Campbell has a defense this year their offense will win a lot of games for them.
