Congrats to Shelby Valley. How awesome a feeling it is to be in rupp when your team wins state enjoy it guys you earned it!!

Actually, Paintsville won the title in the late 90's for the 15th. Congrats Valley, every game won by double digits, very impressive! The mountains stand proud!

The legend of the small school lives. And in Kentucky that means a team from the mountains of Eastern Kentucky winning the Sweet 16. Congradulations Shelby Valley!

So much for the "morning semi is the championship game" nonsense.

 

While I have a bit of a soft spot for Ballard (unusual, coming from a Mason County fan, but a good friend played on the 2007 state runnerup squad), it is nice to see the little engine that could take the title.

 

Please, please, please do NOT classify Kentucky basketball.

They were the best team in Rupp all week and it culminated in a much deserved State Championship.

No! Watched it on the I-High Video stream.

 

Congratulations to Shelby Valley - the back-to-back "A" champs.

 

This certainly does make a case against classification. Even if we were classified as Big Schools/Small Schools, Shelby Valley would have walked away this moring the Small School Champ, deprived of the opportunity to gun down Goliath.

 

This is a sweet night for Kentucky basketball, and especially small school basketball in the state where anything still remains possible.
