Outstanding win by Mason County! My hat's off to the Royals.

I already got that recipe, its not too far off the recipe from Mason County. One thing is for certain they are both recipes for success. Just to make sure, I better get a hold of my good friend Elden May as I will see him working hard at Rupp next week!

Mason County= Well-coached, prepared team

Clark County= Not so much

 

I was pulling for Clark & thought they would win easily tonight. Have to give it credit to O'Hearn & his squad. Congrats on the victory!

Were is the GRC fanbase? No, excellent game tonight ,best high school game i have seen in a while. Gilbert made some key shots, J Lang did the same, and big daddy Rhueben was the key to success on tonights win:dancingpa.

I'm not so sure it was all coaching. Late in the game, the Cards seemed to get away from what got them the 6 or 7 point lead. Zollo was having his way down low; then all of a sudden he's handling the ball and chucking up threes.

 

If these teams play a 7-game series, Clark just may win 5 or 6 of them. But the Royals are a very tough out when the Sweet 16 is on the line.

They'll be here, and in all seriousness I expect them to be gracious in defeat. Many are probably just getting back after grabbing something to eat along the way.

 

Agree - just an outstanding game. Although I wish a few more free throws had been knocked down.

Congratulations Mason County Royals!!!! You played with the hearts of true champions!!

Wait til' next year again for GRC. They've got to to be getting sick of saying that. From what I heard it sounds like they better work to win it next year instead of thinking it's a given. Congrats to Mason County for earning the title.

Really surprised by this one congrats to Mason there is a lot to be said from having experience in these situations.

What an atmosphere for a regional final! The place was rocking on both sides tonight. Clark County brought a great crowd. Maybe I'm just a bit biased, but you can have the BOK and its cushy seats, its six dollar sandwiches and its half empty arena. I talked to more than one person - not from Mason County - who were in complete agreement.

 

Never underestimate the heart of a champion. Lots of the Royals play football as well, and a football mentality was needed to hang with a much bigger Clark County squad.

 

As I have preached many times, basketball - and especially high-school basketball - is a guard's game at its heart. Jordan Gilbert in the first half and Justin Lang in the second half proved it once again.

 

I really thought that Robbie Stenzel was going to take over the game. Then just like that, they got away from him. Credit Mason County's defense for some of that. Zollo hit a huge three towards the end, but as been said already, they seemed to get away from what would have been a winning formula - pound the ball inside over and over, then let Stenzel take his man off the dribble.

 

Congratulations to both teams for giving us a whale of a game!

From someone who didn't have a horse in the race this was one of the most exciting and intense high school games I have ever wittnessed. Congrats to both teams as the show you put on at the fieldhouse was outstanding. Only one team moves on and to Mason County I say wow, what heart and desire you displayed tongiht. Something tells me the fieldhouse was built for just such a night as this.

After trailing the whole game Mason finally gets a two point lead and the next trip down the floor Purvis jacks up a three before the entire team gets down the floor. Rogers fouls Pawsat on the rebound and Clark never catches up. Them kind of shots will get you beat.

Wow,What a ballgame...Congrats to the Mason County Royals you guys worked your butts off this year to get this done..With all the injuries you fought through and did'nt make excuses like some in the past you just got the job done and showed what the "HEART OF A CHAMPION" can achieve CONGRATS...Congrats to GRC on a fine season..What an atmosphere this was tonight also on both sides WOW..Even with no pork chop sandwiches or nachos it was great..Guys in blue you showed why you own this region until THEY beat you just as I told isthatallugot the Cards have to beat the Royals not the other way as many was saying and they seem to have trouble doing just that!
