Well ,where do I start? You could probably re-read my post from last year's Clark/Mason regional final game and it would say almost the same thing. First up, no bad calls issue whatsoever,well called game from where I sat. Lang and Gilbert and Pawsat have the intangible that this Clark County team does not have and hasn't had since Preston Knowles graduated, heart and desire to win the big game and to be able to handle and play under pressure. As someone who was cheering for Clark County,but not from there, seriously hope another team steps up and plays Mason County in next year's regional final because this Clark County team will never beat them, you can book that. Zollo gave it all he had, but the rest of the team were MIA almost from the start. Chris 'O Hearn is one of the best, if not the best Coach in the state of Kentucky. He could take a starting lineup of no one taller that 6'0 and take them to the state, honestly believe that. The best team tonight won, just like last year. Hope fully some other team besides Clark County steps up next year, because see the same story playing out then.

Congrats to Mason County for getting it done tonight. Being at the game I was most impressed with Justin Langs play. He is a tough player who gave 100+ percent tonight. Great win for the Royals.

Also, Clark County had the chance to change benchs and even wear their color uniforms if they wish. I heard they first decided to change and then later changed their minds and decided to sit on the home bench and wear white.

I ask everybody tonight just to hear there intake and they all agreed last years championship game could'nt touch this games feeling..It was nothing more than a prelude to the Holmes and Boone game..:thumb::thumb:

Just got home... haven't read the thread and won't until the morning because I'm too exhausted.

 

I wanted to get on here though and eat my full meal of crow though like I said I would.

 

Mason was able to stay in the game throughout the first 3 quarters and made just enough plays to win them the game. Lang was huge from 3 point land. I'll get on here tomorrow, read through the thread, and offer my views on the game and turning points which lead to me being totally stunned.

 

Congrats Royals on another region crown and I hope you represent the 10th well in the State Tournament next week.

You hit the nail on the head with Coach O'Hearn. He has won with the pressure of being the favorite and won 3 of his 4 Region Titles as an underdog. He seems to really build a tight-knit group of young men that play loose and with passion.

 

And the atmosphere at the Fieldhouse was awesome tonight! It is a shame the tournament is not there every year.

If there coachs worried about this as much as some fans thats probally why they lost..Benches you sit on don't win championships,,Just look at Mason how many have they won on the home bench and now on the road bench..:ohbrother::lol:

I'm not so sure it was all coaching. Late in the game, the Cards seemed to get away from what got them the 6 or 7 point lead. Zollo was having his way down low; then all of a sudden he's handling the ball and chucking up threes.

 

If these teams play a 7-game series, Clark just may win 5 or 6 of them. But the Royals are a very tough out when the Sweet 16 is on the line.

 

Clark made some real bad decisions tonight.

Were is the GRC fanbase? No, excellent game tonight ,best high school game i have seen in a while. Gilbert made some key shots, J Lang did the same, and big daddy Rhueben was the key to success on tonights win:dancingpa.

 

Their teeshirts said all in but Clark Co. is out !
