You woulda thunk that he was smarter than that after going to Latin School and all! :D:lol:

No offense coach, but you had to vote for another player besides Scruggs. Harris was the best player in the league. I'm not sure that Scruggs was 2nd best. Wrobleski, Hergott and Wood are in the conversation as well.

No offense taken. Obivously, I would have picked Scruggs, which is why you have to pick another player from a different team. The organizations made the choice not me.

I still had to pick between those CCRDs and the league. Connor Conaboy was one of the best lineman this league has produced. I felt Zach was the most complete player in the league. Scruggs may have been the most talented. I feel if everyone watched the same games we did you would only agree with the other coaches who made their votes. And all those coaches watch a lot of film. I think the MVP is a good award to give out and it sparks fun debate. There is no doubt, CCRD was one of the best middle school teams and collection of players ever to play together. And probably the best defense I have seen. I am glad to have had the opportunity to play them in the superbowl.

It will be fun watching them progess through high school.

Coach, I admire your class. All the above mentioned players can have an arguement, but Jonathon won. The CCRD team was exceptionally talented. I know for a fact that after your Tigers and the Devils played in week one, Coach Hergott told his team repeated, that they would play again in the Super Bowl.

IMO, Hatton's best sport is football. He will be a impact player at Dixie for sure.

Can't wait to see the CovCath Frosh after watching the 8th grade team go undefeated during last years middle school football season.

Heard they will be adding a couple of young men that played in the Boone County League including (don't remember his name) the young man who won the award for the best back, like Bobby Beatrice did a year or two ago!

It will be another fun season in Park Hills!

I know another kid from Erlanger who goes to St. Henry just recently decided that he is going to go to CovCath will be a nice pickup for them. He is a tall WR who played in some sort of Super Bowl down at Myrtle Beach over the Holidays.

Thank you Sir. I wasn't so sure after week 1. They put it on us. We had quite a few unproven players that got better as the year went on. We had speed but couldn't handle the overall talent & size of that CCRD team. (I really liked that Avery Wood. Great attitude) Hergott did a great job with them. I am impressed with all those kids in that game. I thought the CCRD team I saw with Kelly and Kramer was real tough but this one was on the same level.

Also, I stopped in the holmes weight room and over 10 of those kids on that BT superbowl team where lifting with the varsity kids. I think the Holmes Freshmen team will be pretty tough. That depends on if they let Scruggs play freshmen or just stay varsity.

:puke: Come on man!! Do you know how many kids read these threads? Don't give them ideas to quit a sport or not play a sport because they may have a chance to play college ball...where?? NKU, Thomas More? Don't listen to this person on here..Play as many sports in HS as you can, especially if you can do well at them!

If Hatton and his parents are relying on Qryche to influence them on their decision to play certain sports then its a sad day in NKY sports.

I dont care if the kid plays football, if he wants to play for a team that is consistently underachieving when he could be preparing himself for the next level playing hoops then that is his decision.

All i am saying is he is Nationally ranked as an 8th grader and he dropped 30 pts on SK as an 8th grader. Do you remember a kid named Ronny Dawn who was 6'1 at best but could shoot lights out and played at Marshall? Well, Hatton shoots much like Dawn did and he will lead the Region in scoring soon, very soon.

Like I said, if he is an exceptional football player then I'd like to see him play and have fun. In fact, I cant wait to see how he does against the Bluebirds.

What position does he play in football?

I thought I heard he was a qb...

My last thought....

Harris touched the ball on 4 or 5 times per game - MAX. He probably had a 50% scoring ratio to touches. Our defense would then stop other teams from scoring and the coach had Wood, Wrobleski and Hergott as options as well. His touches were a fraction of Scruggs' touches. For instance, in the CCRD v. Spartans game CCRD won 34 - 6. Harris scored on 3 of 5 touches. In comparison, I think Scruggs had 12 - 15 touches and scored 5 or 6 times. Great stats for both but you see my point.

Regardless, Highland, CCHS and Holmes should all have GREAT freshman programs this year.

Why wouldn't they give the ball to Harris every time if his scoring ratio was that high?

Well first of all, they didnt need to. Secondly, they tried to spread the wealth. Every player on the senior team got a chance to score (even the linemen).

Did they dominate the league? Sounds like they were loaded. I know most of the boys mentioned on CCRD and they are all outstanding athletes.

I thought I heard he was a qb...

He is a QB. A very good one at that.
