He was a good High School player but outside of his name, is he really D1 material?

I guess college coaches just give away D1 scholarships??:rolleyes:

As much, or more so than any player in KY this year. He is clearly a special player and has all the tools to be successful at the next level.

I sure hope he picks UK. We need to keep the best in state players IN STATE! He would really help UK get over the hump!!!!

I'm not to sure about this I know he visited another school this weekend.

What school NCBIRD?

SS, I believe it was the school up in the northeast that he already visited once before.

Come on. That is silly talk. How many D1 offers does he have to get to "really" be D1 material? He is one of the top 5 recruits in the state this year.

^^^^ Most likely safety.

This is the first I have heard of him playing safety. The main thing I keeping hearing about him is WR in college. He is definitely a good enough athlete to where he could play Safety though.

He does not have more D1 potential than Miles Simpson. However he definitely is good enough for D1 and will do well IMO.

IMHO, safety is his best position. While he has excellent "playing speed" I don't think he has enough raw speed to play WR or CB at the highest levels of college football.

Also, given the list of schools in the mix, I believe the best fit for him is Harvard. If he goes to an SEC, PAC-10, or Big East school he may or may not see significant playing time. If he goes to Harvard I think he'll play a lot and he'll get that Harvard education. Given who his dad is, the cost of Harvard is not an obstacle.

I agree on several of your points.

For the reason you like Harvard, I like AC going to Stanford (the Harvard of the West). Yes it is a long way from home, but it is the most prestigious education of a school that plays Division I football.

I can see the Collinsworth kid as a safety. He would look good in UK blue!

I heard on the news last night channel 32 in Louisville, that Collinsworth would commit today to Kentucky at the Paul Horning Awards ceremony, anyone know if this information is correct or not?

I hope that is right. This kid showed a great deal of versatility in HS, playing whatever position his team needed and being a standout every time. LOVE to see him in Blue in the fall!!! :thumb:

As much as I would love to see him wear UK Blue I am not sure it is a good fit for him. I still say there might be a chance he wears the Blue n Gold and plays in South Bend.

UK could not have many scholarships left, needs to make the commitment soon or the boat may be full. I have heard they are hoping for a couple of DL and maybe an OL to commit to finish up for the year.
