I do get get it, I was just trying to point out that Louisville and NKY might be inconvenienced this year, in the past WKY had this same issue. But trust me, I know they do not care and I do not care either. Last year I had just gotten back from iraq and I made it to the game in the ville, not a problem. In my opinion, if they wanted to see the game, they would go and it wouldn't matter where it was held.

Look at the numbers...the KHSAA doen't make much money on the Football Finals when compared with the Boys Sweet 16 anyways. T and X for a single game doen't make or break their budget. The Boy's Sweet 16 is all that they realy care about, in fact, I believe that it earns them nearly four times the Football Finals.

 

I think many will find the "closed in" nature of LT Smith stadium and the much smaller nature of the venue to enhance the experience. Not to mention, the teams from the West, Lone Oak, Mayfield, PT, and Ft. Campbell will no doubt appreciate the closer nature of the game.

I would think everyone wants to stay and watch the greatest two teams in Kentucky....

Don't get too upset...in reality, most folks in Louisville don't pay too much attention to the games that have zero impact on the schools they pay attention too...meaning...mainly the big class....and in that regard it has become a Trinity or St. Xavier affair.......it should be here, but I understand why it isn't at this time.

Sorry, but I was not impressed with your attendance last year. The weather was not the best, but Heck, this is football... the 6A did not produce a windfall for the KHSAA. Let's be honest here...

 

Maybe that was because in many people's minds (in our city) the state championship had been played the week before....

 

...I know, I know...I am the most arrogant feeble minded Louisville fan around....but the bulk of high school football loving folk in the state knew, that when us and X met in the semi's, that was for the trophy.

There were questions specifically posed about Trinity & X and I answered them. Considering the population in Louisville compared to most areas of the state, then that's a significantly larger number of curiosity seekers. And considering neither T nor X is popular out in the state, nor do the majority of those kids or curiosity seekers have any relatives, neighbors, old schoolmates or friends on one of the teams, then no, I don't expect there will be many BG curiosity seekers. That's not said because I mind, but just that I realize the realities.

 

Frankly, I don't consider myself to be arrogant in wishing it were in my back yard. Nor do I consider any Louisville football fan to be. My hackles are up because it's assumed that arrogance is the reason that when T & X point out that the attendance will be lower. It's simply not arrogance. There are factors that will cause that.

 

I know why it was moved, I agree with it being moved, and I like that it was moved to BG. I'll be there to watch. Unfortunately, I won't be able to see all the games this year, because I can't make the trip both days. I don't even know if I'll see all the games on Saturday, which bums me because I'd really like to. It's a great event and I look forward to it every year. If others perceive me as arrogant, then I can't do anything to change their minds. I also don't think I've done anything to warrant that lable. But, I can stew about it, which isn't at all productive, or I can accept that some people assume because I'm a fan of Trinity I must be arrogant and go about living my life with some people in the world who don't like me.

 

Even though I was an English major, RockMom makes the point so much more eloquent....you see....I don't truly care where it is, in that I'll be there regardless...as a Trinity guy, my point has been, if it were in Louisville, the TOTAL attendance of the event would be greater. I understand that it wasn't a possibility, and that has been talked about more than enough.....

I didn't read this whole thread. However I will be making the trip down there, if I can find someone to go with. I am struggling finding someone to go with because friends either low on money, or just don't feel like making the trip. So I will be there if I can find a friend to go and split the cost of a room with. I know I think it will be a pretty good time down there in Bowling Green.

They can until they play the better teams from other states. Then, Kentucky, as with most other national rankings, is merely the poor, hillbilly relation.

 

Check the ranking for Highlands and their game agains St. Xavier of Cincinnati this year. Currently: USA Today - #6; ESPN - #12; Rivals - #10. Wish I was a poor, hillbilly relation like that.

8 EST, is the T/X game. Thus, much too late to be driving kids to BG and dropping them off and picking them up later. :lol:

I thought we had a nice turnout this past Friday from the students. You should know by now not to believe every thing you read on here. Without going back and checking, I seem to recall a couple of people talking about the low student turnout, weren't there themselves, so how do they know?

My dad and I used to go every year for about 15 years or more. We haven't gone the past two years but I've been one of them. I have a kid I coached but moved away that is QBing in one of the games and my old coach is helping. I'd love to go see him. To Louisville it's about 3 hours and I would go. To Bowling Green I'm guessing it's close to 5 hours. I hope to get to see him but it sure makes it tougher in BG. I just couldn't see them moving the Sweet 16 to Eastern or Western...

 

This is geographically impossible unless you live north of Cincinnati or Indianapolis.

They do have a club level with chair backs, though I am not sure about the inside.....it's the side Trinity is on this year....
