Parking..didn't have to worry about but it appeared to be a little hectic for the fans

Traffic...didn't have to worry because I had to work and so large part of crowd was gone.

Tickets..didn't have to worry about it.

Stadium..C+...but the club level was very nice.

Concessions...Only bought a hot chocolate but did have to go to 3 stands to find it

Press Box...horrible to get to, dirty and dumpy. I can't believe you do a renovation on a stadium and you don't re-do the press box???

Louisville v. BG in marketing?

 

What distance do the 12 customers drive to BG versus Louisville? Mapquest anyone?

 

Travel? I-65, 64, and 71 v, 65

 

Population within 100 miles? Even taking out north of Louisville since it's Indiana, still more in Louisville.

 

If you were selling, which do you choose?

I did not read thru this thread but I for one was not happy about the lack of access to the team after the game. Note to WKU, setup each endzone for each team and allow the parents, family, friends and schoolmates the opportunity to greet and take pics and such. I understand that this is a college facility and they obvious follow their usual guidelines but HS State Championships are typically the end of the road for alot of these kids when it comes to playing football and to be denied access to the kids is just ridiculous. JMO.

 

Sweep, that was the same policy at Papa Johns, although it might not have been as strictly enforced last year in the 5A game. I agree with your sentiments entirely though. There should be some place available for the parents in particular to congratulate their sons and the coaches right after the game. Letting that occur actually on the field won't work due to time constraints involved. That's not an issue after the last game, but let me assure you, by then the security, stadium workers and the KHSAA staff are really ready to go home. They had been there a long time. Some since 6:30 that morning. I'm actually surprised they let the on field celebrating by the Highlands players go on as long as it did after our game. It would be a lot better if the KHSAA followed the Ru's suggestion and had 2 games on Thurs, 2 on Friday and 2 on Saturday, but that's a debate for another thread. Perhaps we should have the superintendents work the games and be there from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm out in the cold. They might be more understanding and a little more sympathetic.

 

All in all, I liked what I experienced at WKU. The folks I had to deal with were extremely pleasant. I like the smaller stadium and the more "intimate" atmosphere it creates. Security folks and the ushers or whatever you call the workers at the gates were extremely pleasant. Parking isn't as convenient as it is at PJS, but it wasn't as bad as some thought it was going to be from my observation. Saturday was much better than Friday parking wise. Either I was given bad scoop about students not supposed to use the parking lots or it wasn't enforced. Creason had a lot of student parking stickers on the cars. Traffic to and fro was bad depending on which direction you were heading and the time of day. Saturday I didn't think it was near as bad. Learned some back road routes that took me away from the congested main roads.

I felt so much closer to the field.. It was, as someone mentioned, a perfect sized stadium for these games..

 

I agree the concession could have offered more.. But parking wasn't a problem or traffic.. The club level was very good.. It all started off right with the Lone Oak/Boyle Game..WOW!! What an atmosphere.. As a coach, Bowling Green was not as accomodating ina sense that you couldn't get a cab for 20 min.. But as far as football, I knew the smaller stadium would make for a really great atmosphere for football..

 

Just beef up the concession stand...

Tell us more about the club level. How did you get tics for that area, how much etc.. Is it comparable to the Brown/Williamson Club area at PJ's? Thanks for any info. This is the 1st Finals I have missed in over 7 years. I'm trying to decide about next year already.
