Of course he's going to. Everyone either hates or Loves Florida. So he picked the most controversial side of the fence. It's all about the ratings and bieng noticed. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen on te field.

:ohbrother:

Controversial side? IMO if you think this should go unnoticed that is the controversial thing. He looks like he is trying to blind the poor kid, just awful.

Let's hope the SEC gets involved.

I think Urban screwed up here. He should have at least suspended him the entire Vandy game. I think by only giving him a half he as definitely run the risk of getting the SEC involved. Way too light in my opinion.

I've been watching football all my life and have never seen this happen. I've seen lots of cheap shots, clotheslines, clips, but never anyone trying to gouge somebody in the eyes. I hope the SEC gets involved since Meyer didn't think it was a big deal.

For all of Urban's good qualities as a coach his players lack good judgement from time to time. Spikes is one of the only Gators I like, but this wasn't good at all.

Bad idea for Meyer to only give him a half. Now the SEC gets involved I'm sure. Besides isn't Urban letting down a lot of parents with this action? I know a lot of parents are comforted when coaches promise to coach their children to be well respected young men. This is no way to accomplish that!

So a guy from Oregon punches someone after the guy mouths off to him while both guys are standing up and gets suspeded for the year. Another guy tries to rake out the eyes of a defenseless player who is laying on the ground. One guy is done for the year and another for only one half of a game agaisnt Vandy? That doesn't make sense.

The Oregon player did not get the entire year, initially, just because of the one punch. It was his antics after that.

I remember getting pinched and scratched under a pile but never poked in the eyes. Not good.

^It wasn't even just a poke in the eyes. He goes in there really hard and seems to dig and dig and dig into the UGA players eyes... just awful.

That is despicable behavior--absolutely no excuse for it and no place for it.

I agree!!
