If I were Jackson or Sage I would have to tell my self I'm better then this? Has nothing to do with Farve being Great we all know that but what kinda or moral does the rest of your team have? He wasnt here with us fighting throught Training camp. I Agree He is better then Jackson and Sage but he is not better then the whole team and it's real selfish of him to play with the Vikings like he is doing.

Other then rack up fantasy points what has Brees done? He is definitely a notch above some of those guys but no reason to put him in the elite yet. I would actually drop Cassel, Shaub, and Ryan off of that list for now.

I have a new nickname for Brett Favre. Its Farce. I am so tired of his soap opera.

On paper, there still a notch below the Eagles and Giants and right in the mix with about 5-7 other teams. Favre helps, but not as much as the name suggests.

Roethlisberger might be a top 5 QB (at least top 10) right now in the NFL. He's a winner...

 

He's not a top 5 fantasy QB by any means, but the NFL isn't all about stats.

Are you serious? He's 105 years old, been going to NFL training camps since most posters on this board were in grade school or before, they run an offense that he's familiar with and he's no doubt, absolutely no doubt in my mind, a better option than what they have in their current stable of QB's. So, by all means, current QB's in Minnesota, bail out of there now and demand a trade. Then as you're sitting on some other sideline holding a clipboard if you're lucky, enjoy watching AP in the playoffs with some Favre guy under center.

 

While I would agree that Favre is a massive upgrade from what they had, I question allegiance when the going gets rough or Favre has an injury. It's hard to be establish yourself as the teams leader when you aren't in the trenches early.

No one cares if he wants to play. But he should stick with his decisions. If he wants to play he shouldn't retire, then unretire, then consider retiring, then consider unretiring, then announce that he's not coming back, then say that he's coming back, then say there's "no way" he's coming back, then come back. I'm not going to say that Favre is better than any of those players but some you could make a case for.

 

Warner is off and on. Last season he was a hero, a HOF'er. Before that he was in mediocrity.

Romo? I don't know. He puts up nice numbers, but he doesn't win.

Ryan. Had a great Rookie year, but let's not annoint him yet. Hard for me to rank a player who has only played one season, above a first ballot HOF'er.

Cutler. He's like a younger Favre to me. He is a gun-slinger, but if I had to win the Super Bowl I think I'd want to go with the experience.

Cassell, is a no for me. He has to do something first. Bellicheck and the Pats coud make a few of us on here look like a decent QB.

Rogers is good, but let's not annoint him yet.

And I don't know why people are still in love with Palmer. I would take this Favre over him right now.

 

I think you could rank Favre anywhere from 7-16 currently and it would probably be about right. Let's not act like he's some 3rd string Arena League QB or something.

 

I put him in front of Schaub and in front of Cassell by a far amount. I'd say he's firmly in w/ the rest of them. Do people still consider Palmer an elite QB? Rivers is pretty good, but if you look at Favre's numbers before being injured last year and his numbers his last year in GB he's better than or equal to almost everyone. I'd take Roethlisberger in a heart beat over him in Pittsburgh, but not in New England. Favre can still play QB.

 

About exactly what I thought. Realistically you cannot compare him to Brady, Manning(s), Brees, Big Ben. I think Rivers is probably easily a better choice at QB as well right now.

 

I don't see why it matter if he is in the top 15 or not. He is better than anyone they have and they got a chance to upgrade a position and they did it. An important position at that.

Starting to remind me of a very wealthy man who works part time to get out of the house.

Here it is! The media has absolutly driven this into the ground. Had they stayed out of it then it wouldn't have been the circus that got on everybodys nerves. None of us have walked in his shoes but think about this. I hated to walk away from the game as a player when I did. I didn't play all the years he did. He very well could be the biggest competitor in history.

The Pats, Giants etc have had vetern players that they don't make go through all the off season stuff and it has worked for them. I know how sore I used to be after games so I couldn't imagine what somebody his age goes through after the pounding of NFL defenses. Even more the grind of the off season. That isn't including the death of family, wifes cancer, pain addiction etc he has gone through. If the man need some time to think in the off season if he can handle it mentally and physically then so be it. You know what you are getting with him!

Green Bay had a decision to make. It was a tough one. Let Rodgers go and play the waiting game with Favre or let maybe the biggest player in the history of your franchise go so you don't lose the young guy. They made their decsion and knew the backlash that was possible. Rodgers is a nice QB even though they had a bad record. So be it. Understandable to keep him. They then knew they couldn't keep Favre because of the pressure if he were on the bench. They opted to let him go but not to the team he wanted to go too. Selfish of Favre for wanting to go to a team that was only missing 1 postion QB or selfish of the franchise for telling him he wasn't their guy but they weren't going to let him go where he wanted? He went to the Jets for 1 reason...to get to Minny!

His body is failing him some but before he started having trouble he was playing good ball. Nobody talks about the running game. Look up Ryan Grant with Favre and without... look up Thomas Jones stats last year! You think this might help AP or do you really think they are better with a lifetime backup (who I think can be good) or T. Jackson? They got Sage because they weren't happy with T Jacks they got Favre because they weren't happy with either...not rocket science!

Now on to the selfish Favre.. OK Brett we think since you haven't missed a game in about 15 years we are OK with you not being here in the off season. (I do think it hurts timing and how hard he throws with his WR's but it's worth the risk). If you come here we will give you a top 3 defense...a top 5 Oline... a couple of burners at WR..a capable TE... a new toy in Percy Harvin and probably the best player in football to run the ball so you can take some pressure off and see easy coverages you have never seen. Oh yeh we'll also give you almost 10 million dollars a year.

I like the Packers and Favre. I cannot wait to see AP and Favre in the same backfield. I also heard D. Driver and B. Papinga talk today and they were all about Favre playing because of his passion for the game. Guess the guys that lined up with him think he's selfish too..
