August 18, 200917 yr Worst post ever, because it applauds someone that I hate AND pre-emptively (and correctly) calls out my snide remark. Once again, not agreeing with UKMustang- but what he is saying is that, while Favre is better than Sage or T. Jackson, the Vikings would be a team with a 1st round exit with or without him. Favre is better than the current options, but not good enough to get them out of the 1st round. I'm getting used to your responses to my posts and have learned what to expect.

I don't necessarily agree. I feel that the Bears made one of the best moves of the offseason in acquiring Cutler and dumping Orton; they've still got some serious game they can throw around. I also think that the Packers have a fantastic team and Rodgers has show that he can definitely play. I think the Vikings absolutely had to make a move at quarterback or risk being on the outside looking in come January 4.

August 18, 200917 yr I initially was going to question the Roethlisberger selection (just to tick people off).....but cooperstown might be right....who do you put him after? Maybe Schaub or Cassel (because they are relatively unproven) but, at this point, that's it... I put him in front of Schaub and in front of Cassell by a far amount. I'd say he's firmly in w/ the rest of them. Do people still consider Palmer an elite QB? Rivers is pretty good, but if you look at Favre's numbers before being injured last year and his numbers his last year in GB he's better than or equal to almost everyone. I'd take Roethlisberger in a heart beat over him in Pittsburgh, but not in New England. Favre can still play QB.

August 18, 200917 yr I think they may be the best team in the NFC with a health Farve... On paper, there still a notch below the Eagles and Giants and right in the mix with about 5-7 other teams. Favre helps, but not as much as the name suggests.

He's 105 years old, been going to NFL training camps since most posters on this board were in grade school or before, they run an offense that he's familiar with and he's no doubt, absolutely no doubt in my mind, a better option than what they have in their current stable of QB's. So, by all means, current QB's in Minnesota, bail out of there now and demand a trade. Then as you're sitting on some other sideline holding a clipboard if you're lucky, enjoy watching AP in the playoffs with some Favre guy under center.
