sidelinedoc
Fairview Boys basketball coach, Rex Cooksey, has resigned as head coach. He has stated it was for personal reasons. I am saddened by this news but also hoping everything is ok for him and his family.
the one man
I heard that news yesterday. I have known Rex a long time and I will miss him courtside. Do you think his son Derrick with get the job?
NashMVP
Fairview has a very nice team returning. Would be a good time for Derrick to step in.

billygball
I had the opportunity to play for Coach Cooksey on his first team at Fairview. He always was a positive coach and believed in everyone of his players. I have always looked up to him and really hate to see this happen. I have watched his son Derek coach the JV team the past couple of years and his players have a lot of respect for him. I think he has the ability to be a very good basketball coach in the years to come.
stripedshirt
I'm kinda surprised......He commented to me a couple months ago that he planned to coach this year before calling it quits.......
TapUouT
Coach Rex Cooksey will be missed; but I do have high hopes for Derek, and even Brett, once he graduates. If there's any silver lining, what-so-ever in this accouncement; it's that Fairview's team is solid.. Derek, or whoever takes the reigns won't have a lot of untapped talent to worry about.. Best Wishes to the Little School that produces Great Athletes!
SportsGuy41017
I wonder what interest alum Jeff Davis would have in this job? He does a great job with the DSAS 16's and the Simon Kenton JV team.
pg80
I wonder what interest alum Jeff Davis would have in this job? He does a great job with the DSAS 16's and the Simon Kenton JV team. I have heard Jeff make the comment that when it came time for Coach Cooksey to resign that he would have no interest in the job.
